Morning everyone. My 16yr old daughter has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia this week. She is on year 11 and about to sit her GCSEs. Can anyone recommend suitable pain relief. We have tried just about everything and she's still in daily pain. Hope you can help.

Sorry your daughter has this at such a young age, I think you should work closely with her GP on this one, drugs work differently for each of us. Try to get physiotherapy referral and keep school informed if this impacts on schoolwork it is an extremely debilitating illness. Lou xx

I'm sorry to hear that you daughter is going through this, especially with her exams looming. Sadly we can't really advise on specific medication, but I suggest you contact the doctor again and ask for some suitable pain killers or a very swift referral to a rheumatologist. When you say you've tried everything, could I ask what you have tried then I may be able to give a little advice on that.

Ps I was diagnosed at 17 with fibrositis and just sitting my A levels, but all those years ago, it was pretty much "take a disprin" and get on with it.......today things are much better and there should b things to help your dear daughter......I really do feel for her !!
