I was mowing the yard and started sweating alot, then stopped and got chills. left side back of head hurts and it has been two weeks.
hi kimmichelle, have you seen your gp about it?
maybe you could make an appointment on monday.
did you know there is a thyroid site on hu? click "communities" on the green bar at the top of the page, then "find a community" they can help you with your hypothyroid concerns.
Do you also have fibromyalgia? this is a good site for fibro.
regards,
hamble.
Hi kimmichelle
Firstly, welcome to the forum, and I genuinely hope that you find it as useful as I do? I sincerely hope that you are starting to feel better now? When things like this happen they can be very distressing and alarming. I had a similar experience whilst trying to push my wife's wheel chair a couple of months ago.
I was wondering what medications you were taking for your Fibro? As many of the medications can give you some horrid side effects, especially if you are new to them? If you continue to have this pain in your head you really should discuss this with your GP just to get anything else ruled out?
I see that our hamble99b has replied to you, and mentioned the Thyroid site, you may find this very useful to join and read as well? I have pasted you a link to our parent site, FibroAction, below and it has loads of useful Fibro information on the site:
I genuinely look forward to bumping into you around the site.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I do not have fibro, but recently had surgery for a Humerusbreak in my left arm, the doc cut my rotator cuff and drilled into the bone and dropped a rod and screwed it in place. Not pretty. I know I have nerve damage, because of the wait to have surgery. All in all, I am doing ok, despite having to quit my job which involved a lot of manual labor, and actually had one day.....June 12th that it did not hurt. Thank you all for the responses. Kim
Hi kimmichelle
I am so sorry to read that you have needed to undergo such surgery and it really sounds painful! I am also sorry that you had to quit your job, as work always gives us a sense of purpose and identity. I sincerely hope that you start to feel better soon.
All my hopes and dreams for you

HI kimmichelle
Welcome to our friendly fibro forum and hope you find the support or answers you're looking for.
I have noticed that you don't tell us much about your condition and was wondering if you'd checked out the Thyroid forums on healthUnlocked as they would be able to tell you if the problem is related to your hypothyroid problem as we don't know here as we're a forum for Fibromyalgia.
If you have Fibromyalgia and would like to know if sweating is a problem then yes, many of us do have issues with it but it is often due to side effects from certain medications or in some cases the menopause for example. As for sweating being a symptom of Fibromyalgia I can't say it is as I'm not a medical professional and personally I think my sweating problem is related to medications. I'm giving you two link to discussions regarding sweating that both come from differing angles
This link takes you to a Post from the Past discussing sweating/hotflushes

This link takes you to another Post from the Past discussing excessive sweating

It would be good if you could possibly give us a little more information regarding the medications you take for your Fibro, if you have been diagnosed?? and in the meantime would like to give you a couple of links to check out regarding Fibromyalgia from our Mother site fibroaction.org
Section - About Fibro including: what it is, the symptoms, diagnosis, how's it treated etc.
fibroaction.org/Pages/About...
Section - Learn more about Fibro from articles discussing how to explain what Fibromyalgia is to how to manage your lifestyle and deal with your doctor, just a few for example
fibroaction.org/Pages/learn...
Wishing you wellness kimmichelle and hope the information is useful to you regarding Fibromyalgia, I must say again that we are not knowledeable on Thyroid issues here so cannot answer questions related to it but there are other forums where you can discuss this such as ThyroidUk for instance.
Look forward to hearing back from you and shall hopefully see you around

It sounds like heat stroke. I did similar work one summer and got heat exhaustion. It took me over a year to get past the sickness if I ever got dehydrated. I am sure as fibro peoples we are even more susceptible than others. I hope you will find relief sooner. Take care of yourself. Be gentle to yourself.
Thank you for your reply. I had no idea that it would be such a long time to get over that. The headache worries me. I have never had one like it. Thank you again for caring. I read that the thyroid thing could be the cause, and I could not get my meds for a couple of weeks and wondered if that triggered everything. Thanks again, Kim
Well, in my case, headache, nausea, weakness, thirst, were all part of the symproms, and I only had heat exhaustion.not heat stroke. If you had heat stroke, I am not surprised to hear the headaches have persisited. Any dehydration on my part brought them raging back. But fibro too can cause migraines. I have always been susceptible to minor headache, but never got migraines till fibro reared its ugly head. They would go away for no reason that I could determine, unless it was less tension in my life. So maybe it is thyroid realted or maybe if you worry about it less, they will decrease. IDK, just a guess. At any rate, I wish you the best.
