Hi Jackcis

You should maybe go to your GP about your stumbles, get it checked out, you maybe need something to help your balance. Then you'll be able to keep on with the sports, well done for keeping going.

Hi Jackcis, I have balance problems which apparently you can with fibro but I can only walk a few steps with my stick and use a wheelchair or mobility scooter to get around otherwise. It might be a good idea to check this out with your doctor if it's a new symptom for you. Have you seen a consultant and had Mri's? it's good to try and get other conditions checked out like MS. My daughter stumbles and has spinocerebellar ataxia so getting other things ruled out would be a good idea. Good Luck!

Hi Jackcis,

I find I stumble a lot when I get up, so what I have started to do is stand up slowly and wait see how I feel while holding onto the sofa then take my first step and that usually is okay. I find if I get up to quickly I loose my balance and end up falling back on to my bed or sofa.

Hi Jackcis,

I would agree with suffolklass that you really would be well advised to go and talk to your doctor about this, because there can be many things which could be causing your stumbling and you really need to know exactly what that is. We here who have Fibro and are possibly younger than your dear self, stumble again, for different reasons, so I think the only person who can give you the advice you need and deserve is your doctor.

Well done one reaching 84 and still being mobile, I am sending lots of positive thoughts your way :-)

Foggy x

I agree, this might not be just something to do with getting older, as you have done well so far, it seems. A good GP will look into it for you. Good luck :-)
