What make of shoes do ladies wear on here as I've had a big shock not being able to wear ordinary shop bought shoes and have wasted money.

Hi Mary. I know what you mean! My feet and toes have nearly sore recently and so I went to Clarks. But even then I had real trouble finding something comfy. Normally they work for me! Like Gins I find big boots good :-)

Hi Mary

I have trouble with my feet too. One make I find really comfy is El Naturalista. I do buy them when I can find them in sale and have to buy a bigger size from normal.

Hope you find something.

Xx

I was sent to a person who deals with feet and the way we stand at the hospital & was advised to wear Birkenstocks. The way these shoes are made means that we walk the way we are meant to. I now wear these 90% of the time and can say that my feet, knees and hips hurt less than they did

Thanks so much it's just that when I try them on yes fine then I get them home and start to walk and they like walking on glass.

Fit Flops or Earth Spirit are the only things I can wear for any length of time. Anything else might feel OK at first but within half on hour, I too get the sensation of walking on shattered glass.

I tried Clarks and the cheeky devils told me their fitting wasn't wide enough for me, and I should go to Evans!! Evans shoes are alright for an outing if you need something a bit more feminine, but if it is just for walking about I recommend you stick to the first two. If you buy online check the returns policy first just in case you don't find them comfortable. I have just bought my 3rd pair of Fit Flops trainers online (don't like their sandals as they are no good for winter and I can't wear toe posts in any case).

If you want to PM me I would be happy to give the name of the online store I use.

Em x

Hello Mary,

I wear Hotter but I have tried several different styles to find ones that help. I find some Hotter styles better than others for pain and pressure relief. I love their "Magical" slip on mules which also support my feet sideways if that makes sense. My foot bones often feel as if they are not being kept in place properly and this style helps a lot. Every step I take normally feels very painful and bruised on my soles but these mules were wonderful in cushioning underfoot impact. I've also bought "Octavia" trainers from them which I did not find much help, and their "Sunset" shoes - ditto. I have a pair of their suede " Faith " boots which I really like, they reduce pain a lot and help me walk further but the style is not to everyones taste! Hotter do Standard, XL wide and XXL wide which helps. I am a standard width and find them "cosy" but not tight and the butter soft leather moulds to my feet shape with use. I have also tried M&S foot cushion, Reiker and Clarks but found none of them cushioning enough. Hotter are best purchased at sale price as they are quite expensive otherwise. The build quality is excellent.

Hope this helps, Misty.

Men's fit flops sandals are great in spring and summer as they don't have the toe post and they're wide. And a good pair of walking boots, also wide and with ankle support for autumn and winter. I only have 3 pairs of footwear altogether since I've had fibro because it limits what fits x

hi, I have the same problem, I wear ugg boots, they a wide, quite light and have a good grip and offer a bit of ankle support. I know they are expensive but well worth the money because they last for years, I actually live in mine. :)

in reply to Pennie1

I wear mine with summer dresses...haha..They are so comfortable

that I wear them all year round. I own a few pair of them and they

are my go to- always.

Have you come across "Alegria" shoes? They are expensive and hard to find in the UK but they are well worth it. They have a removable insole incase you have your own orthotics. My feet are an absolute nightmare! I have fallen arches, arthritis on top of the Fibro pain and they do help and their sizing is generous.

Thanks never heard of them but I'll try and look them up

Hi,

I wear shoes from Padders. They were recommended by the podiatrist at the hospital. They have a range of widths and stock everything from slippers to shoes to boots. They do duel fit shoes which take my orthotics and I must say they really are very comfortable. I thoroughly recommend them

Hugs

Wow so many answers I was just going to say you should have put your size up it would help especially if you are a very wide fitting that is where I came unstuck - so to speak- I wasted a lot of time and money trying things inI now accept that there are only one place for me I have a pair of boots for everyday and a patent leather pair has just come for parties .

When I think of all my pretty shoes still lets not dwell there I am booted by Widerfit.co.uk

Good luck do let us know which you decide and use. xxgins

Tried everything. Now wear Hotters pixie boot and shoes. X

in reply to Jules58

I have Hotters I love them very much :) xxxzebxxx :)

It is wise to try on shoes at the end of a work day, that way your

feet will be the size that they normally are. I'm pretty short..I'm like 5'2'

and my feet are size 4-5 so I can wear little kid light up shoes! haha..

Don't tell me that I am going to get big feet with Fibro...hahah..

Not what you're looking for?
