I don't think you need to worry too much about filling the time, If you do you could always volunteer for an hour or so a week. I found the time quickly gets filled though. Soft hugs and all the best for the future.

in reply to Angeldancea812

I have been considering volunteer work,I still want to work but at my own pace, employers are only interested in themselves,my health is too important to mess with,I indeed intend to relax for a wee while, thanks xxx

in reply to

I agree give your self some chillaxing time out first, best thing i did was becoming self employed, I now work when I want and when I can, and as I now work from home I love it I also have 2 voluntry posts which again I choose the times i work to suit me and I get such a lot from being a volunteer.

Everyone has to find their own way to work around things and hope you find yours, I very rarely come on here or leave comments but I do read a lot of the blogs hope you have some **** YOU TIME ****.

It's good you've made the decision, Della. I am sure you'll feel so much better without the stress of a job. I do some voluntary work, and it's opened up a whole new world for me. It's not particularly taxing, and I've made some good friends. I am so glad I don't have to answer to an employer any more!

Relax and enjoy a bit of freedom! :)

lovely choc lab?? get Some advice re other career options, eg part time, study or voluntary work?? what about money??. I am only well enough to work part time but do not count as able to claim benefits.. will it be different for you?

in reply to summer32

Yes its my choc lab,Milliemoo! I want to get back into some study for my brains sake! I intend to hopefully be my own boss and at my own pace, and some voluntary work,I have some savings put by for now, just going to have a well earned rest with no worries about employers!

You will feel a lot better and stress free wit some rest without your employer putting pressure on you. Then you will be able to think more clearly about what you want to do. Best of luck and have a good rest.

I can relate to how you felt/ feel. Income wise if your GP suggested quitting then he'll support you when you apply for ESA.

Have a bit of down time before rushing in to p/ time, voluntary work etc. also, be careful if you are on ESA and do voluntary work as DWP will push you to go back to work( if you're well enough to do that, then you're well enough to work) I speak from experience but it's just a suggestion... You have to do what's right for you.

Best of luck...and be kind to yourself

Hi Wendy,no I am not on any benefits have never claimed as yet,too daunting a prospect for me too at the moment given the current atos fiasco! I will look after myself as best I can for now, same to you xxx

in reply to aura2

Thanks aura yes our souls need looking after! xxx

My employers fired me last Nov as they were "Over staffed" funny it came out of the blue after I needed to take a day off and then had a letter from my gp explaining I needed to take it easy for a week. I was shocked at first but it's the best thing that could have happened to me as the stress was making me very ill.

Good luck to you x
