Acupuncture- what’s everyone thoughts??

Hi, after 2 miscarriages and waiting on first IVF appointment I thought I’d try acupuncture. Been having it weekly for the last 3 months. Don’t feel any physical difference but hopeful it’s doing something! What are people’s thoughts on this?

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses..poor thing, I faced one time ago - a complete heartbreak..As for the acupuncture - i've tried recently. not sure whether it brought benefits. but was really relaxing. They say it increases blood flow to the reproductive organs..Well, anyway, it won't do harm. Good luck!

I’m waiting for first round of ivf too! Hopefully not too long a wait for us both.

I’ve not heard that acupuncture can help with conceiving before, might do some reading on it. Thanks for the tip but can’t comment yet! X

We have our first appointment scheduled for March. Terrified but hoping it all works out! Hopefully you won’t be waiting too long.

I’ve been constantly googling (which I’m not sure is a good idea!) and willing to try anything that might help!!

I’ve just purchased the book ‘It starts with the egg’. I’ve heard good stuff about it and it’s apparently full of handy tips, might be worth a read for you too

How long were you waiting before you got your March appointment, if you don’t mind me asking?

We were referred on 16 Oct 2018, on 30 Nov 2018 we received confirmation of our March appointment, along with lots of forms to complete.

We were actually due to be referred a year earlier but I fell pregnant twice, resulting in 2 miscarriages. I wrongly assumed because I could conceive I wouldn’t qualify for IVF but I do!

Which part of the country are you in? I am in Scotland and will be attending Ninewells hospital in Dundee.

I do try to switch off thinking about it sometimes as stress isn’t good for you, but it is very hard! x

So not too long. You read so many bad stories about IVF offering and waits on the news so it’s always good to know others haven’t waited years!

I am in Essex so the other end of the country!

Does the letter explain what will happen at your first appointment? X

It says bloods will be taken from each of us for testing for Hepatitis and HIV. And I will have AMH level checked.

Approximately 2 months later treatment should start.

I’m sure you’ll get confirmation of your 1st appointment very soon. Try not to stress too much, easier said than done I know! xx

Hi, I am sorry you are going through this. If eggs quality is the issue, then acupuncture or mesotherapy treatment to ovaries might increase your chances of getting pregnant. However if you cannot pregnant cos of genetics, acupuncture will not work, and IVF PGS NGS might be one of best solutions. But in case of poor sperm quality, that can also be one of the reasons of your pregnancy loss, IVF ICSI might be the best option. Hope this helps xx

I'm really not sure whether acupuncture could make wonders. I have never tried it myself. But I know some people who did. From what I heard they weren't much satisfied with it. Well, there were some benefits to the general health. But seems what was meant to happen just happened. Let us know some of your experience. Good luck.
