tooth root extraction after embryo transfer

ElisabettaFragala profile image

Hi All ☺️

I had an embryo transfer 5 days ago and yesterday I started to have tooth pain. So I went to the dentist today, who recommended to remove the crown and to extract the tooth root as soon as possible.

He wasn’t sure about how to proceed during IVF and he suggested to contact the clinic to ask.

is anyone else has a similar experience before?

I’m happy to extract the tooth, my concerne is that this might have already impacted the embryo implantation ?

Also Is it possible to have a root extraction with anaesthetic during the 10 day after the transfer ?

I would suggest to them to treat you as if you would be pregnant. Because I believe they should have anaesthetic safe during pregnancy etc

Hi Glaedy,

Thank you for your suggestion. I’m going to mention to the dentist to use anaesthetic safe for pregnant woman. Xx

I agree no X-rays or unsafe pain meds or numbing agents they need to treat you as pregnant. I would also probably take a test early and see what’s going on. I don’t see how the tooth pain itself would have impacted anything though but defo be careful with what the dentist gives you xx
