New here, ttc for a year and feeling like we’re going through it alone. Any advice so welcome

my partner and I have been ttc for over a year. Had an 8 week miscarriage in January. I’m aware I’m much newer to this journey than a lot posting on here, which I hope isn’t insensitive, but we’re feeling so isolated and I’m struggling with how out of my control this is. This months negative test hit me hard.

Usually I talk to my friends when things are difficult but as almost all are at different points in the process too, at a similar time, it’s harder to talk to them as they’ve become a lot more guarded and shut down on this topic. My sister and three of my sisters in laws, and three cousins are all pregnant with their first or second which doesn’t help either.

We’ve booked a GP appt because I need to start finding answers. I’ve been tracking and taking supplements etc. Just wanted to say hello, and any advice always welcome.

Take a look at our website fertilitynetworkuk.org you will find information on all aspects of fertility issues such as Fertility Factsheets [ contains info on health tips - diet - lifestyle changes and much more ] and tells you about different treatments and investigations you may be offered This is also a stressful time so take a look at Access to Support to find a Regional Support Group near you

Good luck for the future

I've been there (infact not much further forward still!) and just want to say it gets tougher but just absolutely hang in there. I've just had the first consultation and it's not been great news but I spent over a year not knowing anything. 100% get to your GP and get a referral ASAP so you can start having all the tests done. I miscarried 2 years ago at 8 weeks and just nothing ever since. I think we left it too late to get checked as now I have really low eggs so just make this your priority xxx

So sorry to hear this - after the sadness of a miscarriage it feels it should just be able to happen again doesn’t it. Sending lots of strength and thanks for the encouragement to get everything tested.

sorry to hear of your miscarriage and continued struggles to get pregnant again. Having others around you pregnant is also such a hard thing to deal with.

If your partner hasn’t taken a supplement, I’d highly recommend he start taking something - Proceive is good. Also, get your diets as squeaky clean as possible, cut out as much sugar and processed food as possible. It will all help. Jodie Brandman on Instagram is worth following xx

Thanks so very much for your reply. It’s so kind. Diet and exercise is the main focus for the next few months. And love the Jodie recommendation, thank you
