Hi,I have now had 3 failed transfers and my clinic said maybe I should think about PGT-a testing as only 1 in 4 embryo's are chromosomally normal. This is the first time I have been told this and seems very lot odds! I've been researching online and it says the PGT-a is an add on rather than standard as most people don't need it so I'm finding it all very confusing. How can most people not need it if only 1 in 4 are normal!
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or experience of it?

Hi. Really sorry to hear about your failed transfers. I think that age is one of the key factors when deciding whether to do PGT-A. I did two IVF cycles with my own eggs when I was 44, and I was strongly advised to do PGT-A testing because 90% of eggs are abnormal at my age. I sent 5 blastocysts off for testing over the two cycles, but they all sadly came back abnormal. Please do you mind me asking how old you are?
Ah. If you’re 36, your odds should be much better than mine re egg quality. But PGT-A might be worth considering if you have exhausted all other avenues with your clinic as to why your transfers aren’t working? Wishing you the best of luck x
