what’s the chance of day 5 survive till day 6??

Dear ladies,

I’m expecting day 5dt today, but just received the call from lab that most of my day 5 are still developing, will let me know tomorrow, my question is what’s the % does day 5 successfully developed to day 6 and qualified for frozen? I know it’s scarring from day 3 to day 5, but what about day 5 to day6??

Anyone has knowledge/experience? Thanks, I know I only need to wait 1 day extra, but I’m so upset

They could still make it. 🤞🏼 for you. Try not to stress. Easier says than done I know!

I had 11 embryos on day 5.

- 3 reached blast day 5 (2 frozen + 1 transferred)

- 3 reached blast day 6 (all frozen 5BB/5BC - I am having them pgta tested)

- 5 didn’t reach day 6 or weren’t good enough to freeze

So I guess my stats show that 37% of mine reached day 6 and were good for freezing.

Hi lovely,

I have had quite a few embryos keep developing to day 6. I think if at day 5 they are still going then that is a good sign - I wouldn't expect a big drop off at this stage.

Like you say, you lose more between 3 - 5 days.

Thanks, it’s my first cycle, so every step is new to me, mad searching day 3 and day 5 few days earlier, now day6? 🤪

Haha I know right! You think you know what's going on, then you get another curve ball - it will happen all the way through your treatment....

I have a few day 6 embryos frozen which have been PGS tested and are normal xx

I had 6 embryos still developing at day 5, and 3 of them made it to day 6. So I had 50% that made it through those 24 hrs. Fingers crossed for you!

your developing embryos are still very much in the game, so keep your chin up! My 5 day embryos failed, the 6 day one is now my baby.

I don’t really know about percentages but out of our 9 eggs 6 fertilised. 2 were blastocysts on day 5 (so they implanted once yesterday and froze one). Then today (day 6) the lab range to say that another one of our embryos is now developed and can be frozen. I hope it’s good news tomorrow and I wish you all the best. 🤞

I’ve had 6 embryos 4 good enough for day 5 and 2 embryos left to day 6 and both were frozen day 6 in my first cycle. My last cycle I had one day 5 transferred and another left until day 6 but wasn’t good enough for freezing so it also depends on the round I think but I’m my experience probs as much chance as the day 3-5 experience. Good luck hope all goes well and sounds like even without the day 6s you have a couple of embryos which is amazing! Xx

I had 5 blasts from 7 eggs, 2 at day 5 with 3 still developing. All 3 got to blast on day 6 with 2 of those frozen.
