For anyone following my ‘journey’ here’s the latest update…
So for the last week I’ve been incredibly anxious following my 7 week viability scan with the clinic a week ago when I was told the baby was measuring 8 days behind and I was referred to the EPAU.
This morning I had my follow up (8 week) scan at the hospital. After taking some details from us when discussing the scan last week the nurse pointed out that they were concerned based on the referral that it was an early sign of miscarriage. These words were ringing in my ears going into the scan. She also let us know in advance that for the first couple of minutes she wouldn’t say anything so she could have a proper look around. To say I was bricking it would be an understatement.
Then we could finally breathe a sigh of relief when she told us she was really happy with what she could see! The baby is now measuring 7 weeks 4 days, so still slightly behind but nothing they are concerned about. It’s now 13mm, whereas was only measuring 4.9mm a week ago. And the heartbeat was strong and everything else looked perfect. We could see a much clearer image today too so it was such a special moment.
I know it’s still early days but I can now start to properly imagine that it’s going to work and be ok.
I will move over to the pregnancy support fertility network group for future posts, though will still monitor posts on this group and reply to any posts where I can hopefully help others in the way people have so kindly helped me.
Thank you to all you warriors and baby dust to you all 💕💕💕
