Help with IVF please

Hello everyone, I just turned 40 and my husband and I have been trying to somehow have a child for over a year now. It is a very difficult process because around us it seems as if everyone gets pregnant easily. This puts me to shame, I feel like I'm inadequate. Every day I get angry at myself for why you waited so long if you only tried it earlier. Have any of you over the age of forty become pregnant with IVF or other interventions? Please share with me.

please do not feel inadequate, I know how horrible that feeling is. Trying for over a year without success is common amongst younger couples too, so there’s nothing highly unusual about this (I know when you look around others may have it easier but there are others who take that long or more). At our age IVF should get us pregnant quicker in theory because you create embryos and then it’s a numbers game. In terms of success stories, I have loads. I know someone who gave birth to her daughter via IVF at the age of 42. Another person who worked with me had a child using IVF and she was mid forties, then from the same cycle had another child. You’ll find many women on this forum who can share success stories too xxx
