6dp5dt: remind me why I should not test early

[Minminminminh]

No new symptoms, just the vivid dreams and bloated belly (seems to be settling now). Sudden desperate urge to test even though I know it will not be good for me.

Please please please remind me why I shouldn’t do it 🥴. Need voices of reason to keep me going until test day.

Testing now will only make you get drawn in to testing every day! Don't do it. If you feel you have to test early wait until at least 10 days after embryo transfer. Not worth the additional anxiety at this stage x

I just felt this incredible anxiety - like I couldn’t cope finding out it is a BFN on test day. So I have this irrational voice saying I should test early to soften the blow for test day. Honestly IVF can really test your sanity

I do understand, been there myself. I guess my view would be if it was positive you'd be anxious because you'd want to check line progression and that can set people spiralling if there is a hint that it not getting darker. And if was negative you'd still want to check the next day because it is too early.

Best to wait till OTD will be hard but will pass quickly if you try to keep yourself busy Re read your favourite book - watch some films or boxsets on TV - go for nice walk and hopefully see the buds of spring making an appearance Eat well -drink plenty -rest when you can and take your medication as directed

I am 5dp5dt and my bloating has settled today too, no symptoms. I am convinced it is a negative this time but I am not yet tempted to test, I have always waited for test day/day before as I know I don't want to enter into anything that'll make it worse i.e. testing every day/lines getting lighter. Try stay strong and busy x

You know testing early is inaccurate and causes sooo much anxiety. Stay away from Google it is not your friend and will only send down a rabbit hole of anxiety. Stop symptom spotting as they literally mean nothing at this early stage. Find something to occupy your mind, like binge watching something, reading something, trying a new hobby. Every day you don't test give yourself a little treat like some chocolate or cake. You are a warrior ❤️ 💙 you can do this! Good luck x

thank you!! As the days get closer to OTD, the stronger the urge to test!! My friend had a great suggestion, she said whatever money you were going to spend on a pregnancy test spend it on a treat or manicure!
