I’ve just had my 3rd cycle which has ended in a BFN desire putting in a 5 day 2cc and a morula. I’m 40, don’t smoke or drink and have a healthy lifestyle but I just don’t seem to produce good quality blastocysts despite getting good numbers. Our reason for IVF is that my husband has azoospermia so we have to use a donor.
should I give up at 3 cycles? Should I keep trying or consider changing clinics? I’m not really ready for DE due to the fact we are already using DS. I’ve tried all the supplements from the book “it starts with the egg” for 3 months but apart from getting 16 eggs (9 mature, 6 fertilised s as bad only in poor quality blastocyst) it doesn’t seem to have made any difference.
my husband says we are just throwing good money at bad at £7000 a cycle, the cost is crippling.
I’m gutted but I’m not sure what to do. The clinic just says it’s a numbers game and uses the same protocol each time.

I am so sorry for your failed cycle, its so demoralising - especially when you start off with good numbers but then don't get good grade blasts.. I have been there too so I totally understand.
Had you thought about speaking to another clinic? My clinic was a bit the same in that they kept on doing the same thing each time and not changing anything and I got really frustrated. You can generally book an initial consultation with another clinic and pay just for that consultation - take them through your rounds and what's happened each time and often they will give you an alternative perspective. Might be worth considering? x
Hi Lucyann. So sorrry to hear this, and I hope you have plenty of support just now. Time to allow yourself to heal first, then you can decide whether to try again. Hope all goes well next time if you do decide to try again. Diane
