Should I feel pregnant at all times?

hi ladies,

I am about 5 wks pregnant but apart from slight sore boobs I have no other symptoms. I have had recurrent mcs and no symptoms have not usually ended up well for me. Would like to hear success stories of ladies who may have been in similar boat to me. I am so not able to relax and mc is on my mind at all times. ;(

Congrats on your pregnancy. Honestly I didn’t really have many symptoms until about 9 weeks. Like you I had slightly sore boobs and every so often I felt a bit nauseous and had the odd very pregnant day but it kind of hit me at 9 weeks. The main symptom I had was digestive issues and period pains constantly! I have had a load of MCs too so I totally empathise. The anxiety doesn’t get any easier. I am not out of the woods yet but I’m 12 weeks and still trying to just take each day as it comes xx

Thanks Daisy, it is crazy what mcs do to your mental health. Although no matter how much am telling myself I need to be positive, I am failing and becoming very miserable!

You are not alone! I have posted on here almost every week since my BFP with one panic or another - have a look at my profile! I ended up having to stop telling my husband all my worries as he said I was spiralling - so I spiralled on here instead! xx

Hey lovely,

You are not alone in thinking this. I am 5 weeks and a day today. Similarly to you I don't really 'feel' pregnant. Try not to worry yourself, everyone's pregnancy is different but it is totally normal not to feel any symptoms at the moment. Please reach out. I am feeling exactly the same as you. Its constantly on my mind. You'll be okay. Be kind to yourself. Xx

I had not a symptom until 14 weeks. I paid for a private scan too to check! Honestly no symptoms doesn't mean your not pregnant! Xx

hi there thanks

From what i read wk 5 you dont get scanned

No symptoms = a missed mc in my head;(

Congratulations 🎊. Most women don't feel pregnant until they see there little one at a scan and even then some won't feel pregnant until the little one starts kicking. So try not to worry (easier said than done I know) x

I completely understand that I felt exactly the same my clinic brought my viability scan forward week because my symptoms had stopped and I had convinced myself it was going to be another ectopic. You just need to hang in there a little longer you are a strong women x

Hi Preety,

Congratulations!! Try not to worry about symptoms too much. Like others here I really didn’t have any symptoms at 5 weeks and I was pregnant with twins! In fact I had two bleeds at 5 weeks and was convinced I had mcd! Like Daisy, I didn’t really get any consistent symptoms, except tiredness until 8 or 9 weeks! But that’s because your hormones don’t start to peak until then. But I also worried so much about my symptoms and I think that’s normal.

Keeping it all crossed for you xx

after so many recurrent mcs congratulations seems an odd word but thanks a lot. I am forgetting that getting pregnant is a milestone on its own

Since turning 35 ive become obessesed with having a baby and I am indeed very happy

Stories like yours give me hope for sure

Thank you very much

hey! I am 5 weeks 2 days today - I have mixed symptoms I thought my boobs were getting sore then it stopped, I think I feel sick but then think is it just because I’m nervous! I’m sleepy sometimes but not others. I think the biggest thing to remember is we are taking drugs and they might hide or make symptoms worse. So can’t give you a success story but can say I’m right there with you and how I try (usually fail) to calm myself. Xx

hiya, I’m 5 and a half weeks now and equally have the odd twinge or sensitivity in my boobs. Some cramps here or there and I feel tired more often - and little bouts of nausea but very fleeting. If I didn’t know I was pregnant I’d likely not even think about all the above! I’ve also had recurrent miscarriages and if it wasn’t for a better blood test last week I’d be convinced it was going to end soon. I have a lot of friends who conceived naturally /easily who only found out week 6 when period still didn’t come and had no idea they were pregnant! Because of our past trauma we just read so much more into everything i think (at least i do). I keep asking my husband to check the size of my boobs out of panic — are they still bigger?! He thinks it’s unnecessary but kindly agrees 🤣 xx

hi there How did you manage to get your bloods done? Via nhs or private? What did they check plz…. Asking hub to check boobs made to chuckle.. thanks

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply to Preety1983

hi, i had them done via nhs because I’m high-risk for ectopic - i just called my GP and they agreed to do them. It did cause a lot of anxiety because the first few were low and slow rising but then they went up. Who knows how it will turn out but trying to keep positive! Xx

when you called your gp, did you ask for the bloods ie what did you say?

Did they just check the hcg? How many bloods you did in total?

Lolalules profile image
Lolalules in reply to Preety1983

they already had access to my notes (two high-risk mcs in last 6 months) so I didn’t really need to give any details. Just asked for blood tests. I had two initially to see if doubling and when seen that was slow rising one more that had a better result x

After being pregnant twice I can reassure you that I didn't feel pregnant until baby started kicking around 18 weeks, was very stressful not having symptoms especially after infertility and think I'll miscarry all the time cause I have no symptoms.

Turns out I am just lucky didn't get any symptoms !

And I know that most people get symptoms around 7 weeks, you being only 5 weeks means it's still early for symptoms.

Good luck!

thanks a lot…the whole scenario is bringing so much anxiety but turning to stories like urs is helping for sure…as am able to tell myself everything is going to be okay :)

No, you don't have to. You are pretty early in the journey. I used to also not feel pregnant (some cramps here and there, nor even sore boobs). Then on week 7, one day i could not keep food down any longer. It takes time, but the baby will let you know they are there.

To add to the many who have already said something similar, I haven’t had many symptoms and was also worried early on. I’m now 14 weeks and succumbed to bad cold etc. recently but still with few ‘typical’ symptoms! Can totally sympathise with your worry, hope it eases soon.
