I’m really hoping someone could please message me any good experiences they’ve had with clinics in the area? I didn’t get any responses to my last post and feel that surely you can’t get better than personal recommendation. Google is a hard one to navigate.
Please anyone if you have a recommendation can you pass it on 🙏🏻. Or any to avoid.
Thank you all 🤍

Hi Booda21, I am based in London but I hope someone will be able to make some personal recommendation. When we were trying to choose our clinic I found the HFEA website quite useful. They have an area called ‘choose a clinic’ which allows you to see the clinics near your postcode but more importantly gives you access to the clinics’audit reports. I found the audit reports useful to see the non conformities the various clinics got as well as their severity ( critical, major, minor). You can also see the responses the clinics gave. There is also normally a comment by the auditors re their success rate and the beginning of the report has a good summary. I do hope you get a few responses, but if not maybe the above can help x
I think Habibi87's suggestion above is great. Unfortunately I am not based near you so cant speficially recommend somewhere there. I would suggest that one thing to look out for is to check whether the clinic does egg collections on Saturdays and whether they only do egg collections on certain days of the week. In my case that has proved important. I was living in London and based at a London clinic when I did my previous cycles and then moved approx 50 miles away. I decided to stay at the London clinic but as they have a branch of the same clinic in my town too I have been able to have most of my stimulation scans and bloods tests down here at the clinic in my town and just go up to London for baseline scan, intralipid infusions and will also go there for egg collection and embryo transfer. I am almost at the end of my current stimulation cycle and had a scan in the clinic in my town yesterday. The sonographer said based on my follicle sizes she thought my egg collection would be Friday as leaving it until Monday would be too long and some of them could be overcooked by then. They dont do egg collections on Saturday at the clinic in my town - only on Mon, Wed and Fri!!! My consultant and nurses at the London clinic looked at the follicle sizes and decided I could benefit from just one more day to try to ensure they got mature eggs from the cluster of follicles in the middle and would therefore have my egg collection this Saturday. If I had been based at a clinic which didnt do egg collections on a Saturday, I wouldnt have had the opportunity to try to get more mature eggs at collection which is a big thing for a poor responder such as myself who has generally only got 5 or 6 eggs per egg collection so cannot afford to lose any (then again who can?!) Strangely, all 4 of my previous egg collections have been on Saturdays too even though the meds have messed up my monthly cycles and not all stimulation cycles have lasted the same number of days for me so if I hadnt been at a clinic which did egg collections on Saturdays that could have been an issue for all of my IVF cycles!
