That's an excellent AMH for 43 :)

I would follow up with the consultant why they think only 3 eggs were collected, perhaps the follicles weren't large enough?

I had a weird cycle where only 2 eggs fertilised out of 18 (13 mature). I then had better fertilisation with ICSI. Have you tried that?

Best of luck x

Hi Orangeflowers I will have the following consultation next week on Tuesday. The follicles wasn't growing all together I only had three biggest dominant, so they decided anticipating the egg collection before I ovulating.

Mine was ICSI two, I suspect that the embryologist did mistake when removed the shelf. As she was so younger and looked little afraid and guilty when she told us about the result.

For the next cycle I try different clinic as this one the Team is so younger. I didn't felt confident enough 😌

Thank you for the wishes xx

I would ask about oestrogen priming with a view to getting all the follicles growing at the same rate. There are various ways of doing this but being on the pill for 21 days before then doing stims from my period once the pill was withdrawn worked for me when previously it had been hard to cluster them together. I understand that it results in a decreased number of follicles but with a high AMH like yours it doesn't sound to me like it would be a problem. I did this when my AMH was 6.9 and I was 45 and got 5 follicles which all grew at the same rate resulting in 5 eggs, 4 of which fertilised normally and three of which were good quality embryos transferred on day 3. Sadly BFN but that was before I knew about my implantation issues! Unfortunately now my AMH has declined further to 3.2 so my next cycle I will used oestrogen patches after ovulation until my period which are also supposed to help cluster the follicles together but without a reduced number of follicles. I'm not convinced the patches work as well as the pill though. Also, can I ask what protocol you used? I was put on an unsuitable protocol for one of my IVF cycles which resulted in just 2 eggs despite my higher AMH and larger numbers on another protocol so I would also be asking about the suitability of the protocol (although be prepared because consultants like to defend the protocol they put you on!)

Hi sorry for heard about your BFN. I was on short protocol. 9 days of 375 menopour, 4 days of Fyremadel and the trigger was 500 Ovitrelle.

It's my first IVF/ISCI. Hope second one thing are different.

Lot's of luck for us! Xx

Hi MrsBless. Speak to your specialist. With an AMH that high at 43, I would have thought you would still be in with a chance using your eggs. Good luck! Diane

Thanks a lot, Diane, your comment is very helpful. It helps me with my decision. My Clinic is just thinking about donor eggs but I am going ask them about my AMH.

Hi MrsBless, although you do have an excellent AMH for your age (I am 43 and it’s oh so lower…) the question is quality over quantity. I don’t won’t to be a downer, but with our age, most likely the quality of our eggs is not the best one. I am still in the initial process of starting ( first consultation soon ) so I don’t have any feedback about my egg quality. Maybe you can asked them from what the embryologist saw, if they have any feedback to give you about your egg quality! All the luck in the world for you 🙏

Welcome to this journey. 🙌 I have spoke to them already and they said that I am just unlucky 🙃 but you are right about quality and unfortunately there's nothing we can do to change it. 😔

I will try one more time with my own eggs but this it.

It's so disappointing when it doesn't work.

Good luck for you!
