NK cell and sperm dna fragmentation test results

We've been on a break for the last 6months due to waiting times to change clinics. The next round will be our 4th round and have had bfn each time except round one which was a blighted ovum.

All tests have come back normal (except low amh) therefore unexplained. We've just paid to have nk cell test and sperm dna fragmentation.

My nk cells have come back high and the clinic have said my blood is 'slightly sticky' so will incorporate thinners into the next cycle.

I have mixed emotions because I finally feel like we might have a reason but when my husband just said his sperm results were in and it says low fragmentation and prospect of pregnancy is excellent, I couldn't help but get upset.

I feel like it's my fault and I'm denying him becoming a father. He's rubbish at comforting me too which is why I'm venting on here.

Has anyone had success where they only had inflated nk cells? Or low amh (3. 1 but risen to 3. 7 on last test)? I just need some hope as I'm on the verge of giving up. I'm 36 and been ttc for 3.5 years.

Hi so sorry to hear about your bfn, good luck on your 4th round. I had one failed ivf before we got to the egg donation route. We chose a clinic abroad too.

Sorry to hear about your previous rounds. You never know... The little tweaks they are going to do for the “sticky blood” may just make all the difference? Don’t lose hope, I’m keeping everything crossed for you . Xxx

Hey,

Can totally sympathise. Had negative result last week, this was my first IVF and will be going for a second.

Regarding feeling it’s ‘all your fault’, please dont. I know its easier said than done and perhaps I need to take my own advice! I also have low AMH (5) and am 28, my partners been told his sperm is just absolutely bloody marvellous fantastic and wonderful! And whilst this is great and eliminates issues on his side, it also makes me feel as though im depriving him of a family. Ive had to have a serious conversation with him about how I’m feeling and that I’ve considered ending the relationship if next round fails as I feel so guilty (I done a post on this too if you check my profile) and he comforted me and made me feel better, but guilt is still there.

I also struggled autoimmune issues so wondering if it’s an implantation issue, may i be cheeky and ask if your clinic suggested the testing and how much you paid for tests? I dont think my clinic do them

Hope your ok and feel free to pop me a message if you want too chat/vent x x

So sorry about your negative result last week.

My new clinic put me in touch with another clinic who did the nk cell as no where up north does it. The nk cell was £500 and the sperm dna frag was £400. Previous clinic basically said in consultation after failed rounds it was poor egg quality and when fertilisation was good actually said to my husband 'you did a good job there'.

If it is poor egg quality then fair enough but we need to rule everything else out first.

I will consider donor egg if no options left.

Just come across this post and I'm needing Nk testing did you get it done? And also what clinic was this as all that I've looked at is around 1300-1500 pounds for the test. If you could PM the clinic name I'd be most grateful. Xx

Hi Ajtart, I am same age as you have low AMH, one fallopian tube and endometriosis my husband's sprem is great so I know how you feel its sooo easy to blame yourself, but it is not your fault you have done nothing wrong. Please be kind to yourself. Keep talking to your husband about how your feeling and maybe try some counselling most clinics offer counselling so just ask for an appointment sometimes just talking to someone netrual can help loads! Good luck with the rest of your journey x
