I’ve started my bleed this morning - Short Protocol

Hi dolls, I’ve started my period this morning and I’m on short protocol so I was told to call up and get booked in for a scan. The nurses called me back and asked me if I have a heavy bleed, how long for etc. To be honest my periods are weird and I only bleed for a few days. Anyway they said I should be fine to come in tomorrow for my scan as long as most of the heaviness goes by then- sometimes I’m heavy on day 1, or 3 or not at all. What happens if my heavier day is tomorrow? My scan is at 9am and that’s 24 hours from when it started. I’ve always had long protocol so this is new to me DianeArnold can you help? 💖

Hey don't worry I have been for my baseline scan with a really heavy period and no one was that concerned about it. Seems like a strange comment to me and not one I have heard of before, usually they are more worried about it being full flow so they know the lining is at its thinnest. Heaps of luck, when I switched from long to short protocol I went from 2 to 13 eggs! So can make a huge difference x

Hey, Yes like Daisy said don't panic, I've also had a period whilst having my baseline scan(heavy with clots sorry for the TMI) and its still been ok. I think they're use to it as long as they can see the lining is shredding as it should. Best Of Luck and hope all goes well xx

Thank you Hidden Hidden what happens if it’s still lightish? Honestly last month period was nothing, month before thought I was gonna bleed to death! It’s so hit and miss these days

Hey, I've gone through 3 cycles and one Fet (in tww now) and I also had no period at all on my 2nd and 3rd cycle for the baseline as i remember having the period on the weekend and not being able to call until Monday but they said it was not a issue at all. Like you, sometimes my AF only last 2 days some 3 but so heavy on them days. It wasn't a issue either of the times. They are just looking to see if the lining is shredding. Hope this helps:) xx

Hey I have done six rounds, of all of them only once did I go too early (bit like you my cycles are all screwy) and they said the lining hadn't completely come away - so I just had to go back 2 days later and then it had and I got to start! x
