I’m 6DP5DT (frozen). My impatient self started testing at 4DPT😆. I saw the faintest line ever and have watched it get darker every morning since. Yesterday the camera barely picked it up but today it’s quite a lot darker! I’m so excited 🤩 I know it’s early yet and anything could still happen so we are trying not to get our hopes up, but even having a positive after 10 years of ttc is a huge win.
My questions are, if the test detects as low as 25 mIU/mL is that what hcg would be at when the line is faint? When the line becomes a ‘dye stealer’ is that when the test maxes out at 50ish mIU/mL?
If anyone can clarify that would be fantastic! I tried to google it but my brain isn’t letting me weed through all the ads and for certain tests (Atoma Early Result Test) there isn’t much info 🙈
Thank you in advance and good luck to every single one of you xoxo

Hi I don’t know the answer to your question to be honest. Although after 7 rounds and currently on my 8th and also a serial tester you’d think I’d know!!
How many did you have put back? I’ve had my last two this time around.
I have had 3 positive tests one unfortunately ended in a miscarriage I also had a chemical but then had my rainbow baby girl in 2020!
Keep me posted on how you get on. I hate this 2ww and will be tested on Sunday x
Thanks for your response! I’m not enjoying the tww either lol. Our clinic will only let us do one at a time so we had a frozen embryo transfer done on the 28th and still have three on ice 😃 Congratulations on your baby girl I’m so happy for you!
Hey I don't know the answer to your question about the strength of the HCG and how that represents itself on tests but just wanted to wish you good luck xx
Congratulations! It's amazing to see the two lines after so long and looks like great line progression so far. Don't know the answer for these particular tests but I got a faint BFP at 3dp5dt on First Response on my FET and I assumed from that it meant it was above the minimum detection threshold, even though it was faint. On my previous chemicals, the faint lines later on were consistent were very low HCG so it seemed to make sense. It might be worth getting your HCG done if you're interested in monitoring the levels - I had mine done from the early BFPs and these were the most reliable and definitive results.
Congratulations! I’m my experience having previously had blood draws as well testing that the darkness of the line doesn’t correlate to hcg levels. With my twins at 8dp5dt my hcg was 159 and my FRER test was dark but not a dye stealer and FRER pretty much has no minimum level of hcg. I’d try a clearblue with weeks - for me they’ve always been very accurate - I got a 2-3 weeks with a hcg of 159 and the threshold for that is 153 x
Congratulations 🥳 the test lines are dependant on things like how much water you’ve drank, how long you’ve held in your pee, time of day, brand of test etc so I wouldn’t worry too much about what HCG level it indicates tbh and the ‘dye stealer’ thing happened to me WELL past test date on a FRER (a really sensitive one) and also then went back to a non dye stealer so that doesn’t really mean anything either especially with the hook effect. obviously watching it get darker is nice but at those early stages HCG levels can differ so much from pregnancy to pregnancy so trying to work out from a HPT what your HCG levels are could cause you unnecessary stress lovely 🤗 good luck for a nice strong line for test day xx
Thanks Twiglet, I’ll be going for my bloodwork on Monday. I’m just happy to see any line. Watching it progress is so amazing!
Backstory - My issue is that I have never been able to ovulate, so when it came time to do IVF I figured great let’s get that little embaby in there all will be fine. Then when the embryos were developing in the lab, the embryologist told me they were developing slowly and I ended up with less than they suspected we would. My FS told me he thought my chances of pregnancy would be lower than average because of the slow growing embryos. So I’ve been stressed this whole time about it even working.
I appreciate your input and you’re right, let’s not stress about things that don’t need to be stressed over. I’ll just enjoy the lines today and hopefully next week get some good news 😍
