The vaccination situation

Hi all!

Question about where you are all at with the COVID vaccination. I had my first Pfizer jab after my last failed cycle in June, have my FET transfer on Thursday and my second jab is scheduled for Sunday.

Wondering whether to go ahead, or hold off until after the 2 ww (and then maybe the next 12 weeks 🤞🏻).

I know the science and the fact that it’s safe as far as all the institutions claim, but just wondering if anyone in the same situation and what you have all decided to do?

Thanks! 🌈🌈🌈

Hi Trying. Check with the Covid-19 helpline, but I would get it done as soon as you are permitted. Good luck! Diane

My gynae was one of the advisory gynaes in my country and so she gave me the green light.

I had my first at 6+1, and my second at 10+4. I am in week 14 now and no issues although I guess we will have to wait and see....

I did lose my pregnancy symptoms after the first jab whilst I was suffering from the jab symptoms which gave me a scare but they were soon back a few days later.

I had the Moderna vaccine as advised by my gynae. Pfizer and Moderna are the jabs deemed safe for pregnant women.

I should add that she told me that should I get the vaccine letter during my IVF cycle (at any point) that it would be fine to get it. I only did is later as that was when I got my letter

Ask your clinic mine recommended 3 days before cycle began because of side effects. If you’re isolating or shielding during 2ww it could be rescheduled for following week but I would get it as soon as your comfortable to.

Fingers and toes crossed for BFP xx

I think it’s a personal decision to make, and a difficult one of course! I wasn’t sure so I spoke to my GP who told me off the record, that if it were her in my shoes, she wouldn’t have it done unless I had a twelve week gab between treatment. She also advised that if treatment works (which it did) that she wouldn’t recommend I have the vaccine until after pregnancy. That said, my friend had both jabs whilst trying naturally and hasn’t experienced any problems. I’m just cautious given how long it’s taken me to get this far! Xx

I managed to get both my jabs before starting latest round of treatment - but I think if I hadn’t, I’d wait till after 2WW and probably after viability scan. Just ‘cause if you get something like a fever (which some do with the jab) it’ll make you super anxious so early on x

Thank you all for your thoughts! It’s been really helpful. I think I’m going to push it until after the 2WW as I can shield and then won’t have the ‘what if’ issues if this round doesn’t work. Then see how it goes 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thank you all and good luck on your journeys xxxx
