So Ive started to read up on these and there seems to be some conflicting info on one being better than the other at the final stages of maturation of the eggs, in two previous cycles Ive had quite a lot of immature eggs and have used Ovitrelle, any examples of people using Gonasi and getting more mature eggs? Or vica versa? Thanks as always xx

Hi Ellie, I've never used Ovitrelle (always Gonasi or Suprecur). My last cycle I used 5000 Gonasi and I was petrified that it wouldn't be enough (as my previous cycle I'd had 10,000 at a different clinic). To make matters worse, on the night of trigger (midnight) as I went to administer the needle popped off and I lost 30% of the liquid in to my duvet!! ARGH! I called the on-call nurse the next day and she said that as long as I'd got about 70% it should be fine. I was so worried going in to EC - convinced I'd wake up and they'd not been able to retrieve any mature eggs. Ended up with 14 collected, 13 fertilised and 4 frozen blastos. My point is Gonasi was fine!
It's funny one, always used gonasi and they always were disappointed with number of eggs compared to number of follicules ... And next time they told me they would use Ovitrell instead to try to collect more eggs ! So it is the opposite of you... I don't know what to think now 🤔!
It’s all so bloody confusing isn’t it! I just wish there was a perfect formula you got to try first time and that was that! Fingers crossed for next time for you 🤞x
I have done 2 rounds, both long protocol with Ovitrelle (250 ug, which is about 6,500IU for comparison) trigger, and got only mature eggs (8 first round, 9 second). I got more eggs than I was expecting for the follicles on the final scan but I think they aspirate anything over 14 mm and those have also always been mature for me. On my first round they were running about 50 mins late so EC was almost 37 hours after trigger, the second time I purposely(!) took my trigger late because the clinic are always late for everything, and so EC was then exactly 36h after trigger xx
Hello - I had total fert failure both rounds with ovitrelle and more success from a numbers and fertilisation perspective on the gonasi round higher numbers collected 5 to 11 with a double dose. Interestingly last round I used both gonasi and ovitrelle for a double trigger and had two fertilised and make it to day 5. It’s trial and error on how you respond however apparently the double helps give a final boost from maturation perspective x
Thanks for your message, I’d heard of double trigger but hadn’t realised you could mix them, I might ask about that. It really is trial and error isn’t it, I’m going to have another chat with the clinic tomorrow! X
I had double gonasi on my first round and only got 2 mature out of 6. They tried double ovitrelle plus suprecur on second round and got 6 mature out of 10.
Obviously i don't know if it was the ovitrelle or suprecur that made the difference though. I remember the consultant deciding on ovitrelle because rather than gonasi as it contains slightly more of the drug than gonsai 6250 compared with 5000 so you get an extra boost.
Hi Ellie1005 on my first round i used gonsai but only 5000iu i spilt some and only got 60percent mature eggs and zero fertilisation this time i pushed for double gonsai (10000iu) and got 100perent mature eggs and all eggs fertilised so if you have experienced a high number of immature eggs i would ask about the higher dose of gonsai to see if that helps xxx
