So I've been waiting for my period to start as I'm due to start taking clomid on day 2 of my next cycle. I had some spotting a few days ago which lasted about 2-3 days and I had a back ache so and sore boobs so I was convinced my period would be coming any day. But then the spitting stopped and I've had just creamy CM for the last 2 days and boobs still aching. This morning I decided to take a HPT as I'm 2 days late and mainly I just wanted to stop my mind from jumping to conclusions and confirm what I already knew, that I'm not pregnant.
Well my god I was not expecting what I saw when I looked at the test after 3 minutes. I actually had to pinch myself to check I wasn't dreaming.
2.5 years TTC and never once had a positive test. 1 round of failed IVF and just about to start clomid and holy moley it's happened naturally.
I'm in shock. π¨ Now I can't stop my anxiety from going into overdrive and worrying whether this will stick. I'm sat alone in my home office trying to work and not really knowing what to do with myself!

Many congratulations, Rachel-1992 ! πIβve heard from my accupuncture specialist that the IVF meds do help with the harmone balance and natural pregnancy is a possibility and your case is proving it right π
π₯³ congrats - I had the exact same happen to me in January and itβs stuck around so far (Iβm now 17w). Everything crossed this embryo is sticking around for you. My fertility clinic were very helpful and did 2 scans for me (but once you hit 6 weeks itβll be cheaper to use an Ultrasound clinic), I also did some hcg tests privately to check my levels were doubling x

I've already started looking into getting an early scan at an ultrasound clinic as I don't feel I can wait til 12 weeks! I need reassurance everything is fine and also just confirmation that this is actually real!
My first one was at 5 weeks but it was because my period was late (and I have too much ptsd from infertility to take a pregnancy test), I just thought my period was messed up as I had a failed cycle in December. And I was waiting for it to come so I could start a FET π€·π½ββοΈ It was reassuring to see but Iβd say to wait til 7 weeks at least so you can see the heartbeat - itβs just a tiny ball before then! My second scan with them was at 8 weeks and I had a scan outside of my fertility clinic at 11 weeks as I was feeling anxious. Iβd definitely go for one that isnβt your fertility clinic as whilst itβs nice they know you, it costs a hell of a lot more lol (and there wasnβt much difference in what they were looking at etc)
I just googled blood tests near me and was able to find a clinic that did them and the results came the next day. I was already 6 weeks at this point so my hcg doubled over 4 days rather than 2 but if youβre planning to do them soon, you should see hcg double!
Thank you that's all really helpful advice. I think I'll book a scan for around 7-8 weeks then and look into blood tests. I really struggle with anxiety so I think that'll help calm me down and reassure me!
Aww congratulations! I'm so happy for you! A positive pregnancy test must be hard to believe after taking so long TTC and having so many negative tests. The best thing is to relax and enjoy it xx
