Embyro transfer.: Can anyone tell me... - Fertility Network UK
Embyro transfer.
Had mine yesterday and my hubby could come with me but probably varies xx
Thank you xx
Hi, for me the partner was not allowed and I was fine with that. The process itself is really quick. I just got myself a cab after the procedure, no problem at all!
No partners at mine. We have an older daughter and I did all 4 of my transfers on my own. It’s so quick and with concentrating on trying not to wet myself because you need a full bladder I was happy to be on my own. Also meant I got to choose the transfer music - after 3 transfers of “twee” hopeful songs like “say a little prayer” I decided to mix it up and have “sex on fire” - the nurses and I had a great time singing along and ended up with both embryos sticking and am having twins 🤣🤣. Didn’t miss partner not being there at all!
Thank you, this has given me real hope xx
Hey, wishing you good luck dear, my husband wasn’t allowed to join me, he was sad about it, but honestly I didn’t need him. Xx
My clinic doesn’t allow partners x
My clinic allowed partners in July bit because of lock down, back to no partners 😔 good luck xx
Mine was allowed both times - June and November. Good job on the June one as it was horrific and they couldn’t get though so I was in bits! Apart from the actual emotional gravity of it, I found it a bit of a non event - just let yourself out after a few minutes! So think you’ll be absolutely fine!
I had my transfer on 17th overseas in Prague... Partner was unable to travel...as both of us couldn't take 2wks off work to self isolate on return... So I had to go it alone... Clinic let me video the transfer (some reason my Skype wouldn't work!).... Video is just under 2mins long!! It was crazy how quickly it all happened after all these yrs of waiting to get to this point! If he can't make it perhaps they will allow u to do same
Hi mine was allowed but if not they might offer you images of the embryo on screen to take away for your partner x
I’ve been told it’s alone at the moment during lockdown but may change on Wednesday depending what tier you’re in!!! I’m in tier 3 now so not expecting my wife can come in on Thursday! They said to check Wednesday night!!!?!
I went on my own and it was literally fine, all the nurses are lovely and I was in and out of the clinic in about 40 mins (procedure was probs less than 15!) For us there was no point in my husband using annual leave for such a short appt, also there's nothing really for him to see 😂 XXX
Partner wasn’t allowed in for mine but could wait in waiting room, I didn’t really mind as process is really quick. Best of luck! Xx
My husband was allowed in yesterday give the clinic a call and ask them, they won’t mind! It’s the only thing my husband has been allowed to come in to, scans etc were all on my own x
In Scotland no partners allowed to any appointments including egg collection and transfer. They are only allowed to 8,12 and 20 week scan. I just sent some pics from mine and they waited out in the car. I was in and out in 20mins and it’s a really simple procedure. Typical this is our 9th try, the only one they weren’t at and the one that worked! 😄 we don't give a damn about that now though, it feels important at the time but in reality it’s not. Lots of luck xx
I have had two transfers overseas and went to both by myself as my partner couldn't get time off. The transfers were both over and done with in a very short time and I was fine by myself. X
My husband wasn’t allowed at any of the appointments this time (apart from when he had to drop me off for egg collection because he was doing his sample the same morning). I was worried how I’d be without him during the embryo transfer because I really wanted him to be there for that bit but actually I found the process really fascinating so it was interesting rather than upsetting. I’ve had my treatment with the NHS (although we’ve had to pay this time) but I don’t know if other clinics are any different at the moment
I had mine just over 2 weeks ago and I had to go myself. I had to do the EC on my own too. It's really not so bad! Good luck!
I did everything on my own because my husband couldn't come in. He drops me off and wait in the car park. He only came on once for sperm samples. I'm about 7 months pregnant and same thing he can't come in during scans as well but I always give him pictures. So everything is fine no problem. Wish you all the best.
Hi I had transfer today and Husband was allowed in with me. Scotland based. Not sure if private different from NHS but he’s been allowed in to all my appointments xx
