Hi all, I had a failed cycle with the NHS in September. I'm starting a new cycle with a private clinic next week. They sent me an invoice that covers PGS and it must be paid within 3 days. My questions is: What if there is no mature egg collected? What if there is no fertilisation? Will I be throwing away £3k away for nothing? It just seems too big a risk to take. Does anyone have experiences cancelling PGS? How do you all handle the risks? Many thanks!

If no egg fertilised, will I lose nearly £3k for PGS??
Hi LRed,
I didn’t get invoiced for my PGS testing until after my embryos had been biopsied but my clinic charged by embryo rather than a set fee.
I would imagine you would get this money back if you had no viable embryos to biopsy and test. I’ve previously paid up front for other things, like embryo freezing, which we have then ended up not needing as nothing left over to freeze and we’ve always got a refund from the clinic.
I would give them a call just to confirm though xx
Hi,
i am also with CRGH and they are very strict with finance. you have to pay upfront but i had a failed IVF round as i was a poor responder and they did refund me part of my payment. i still had to pay for the scans, blood test etc.
My clinic would refund in that situation
I really hope CRGH would do so too! On the invoice I received, there are already several add-ons that no one has talked to me about, which add up to thousands of pounds and must be paid even before my first monitoring scan...Imagine the stress
don't accept all the add ons unless you are happy with it. do your research . they were making me go all out but i questioned each process with the doc. remember this is your treatment make sure you are happy with it. you will just finance calling you and breathing down your neck. plus you have to pay £150 covid test each treatment.
