Hello lovely, sounds like you are being super proactive in preparation 👍If I could recommend anything I would say buy the book "it starts with the egg"

I wish I had read this before my first round, it was so helpful and gives you a real focus.

Pregna care/plan multi vit, with vitamin d is a good place to start and depending on the reasons for IVF there are a lot more supplements that you both can take.

Mediterranean diet is a good one to follow too. Good luck xx

Hiya, my partner and I both started on pregnacare conception for him and her. No idea if it's worth the £ but we just did it anyway. It's often 3 for 2 in Boots.

I lost some weight and ate really well for a while beforehand. I also cut down on alcohol but didn't cut it out completely until just before injections. My partner also cut it out at that point. The fact is we'll never have any idea if these things worked but it's always nice to feel you have some control. We have had a positive but we're trying not to assume anything at the moment, it's too early.

HI Hrte. Good to hear that you are nearing your treatment cycle. Just a good quality multivitamin tablet for pre-conception should do, as it contains the Folic Acid and Vitamin D that you need. There is a men's version too. A good diet to have at this time consists of variety, however, I have listed some of the “good” things to have: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Hope that helps. Diane
