Severe male factor

So clinic have confirmed that most probably our reason for getting only 2 blastocysts from 2 cycles is due to very poor sperm.

Anyone had sucess with Ivf even tough you had severe male factor?

Feel crushed right now 😔😔

My husband has severe MF, count is less than 1 million and he has very high DNA fragmentation. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant from my 3rd transfer (I also had a BFP from my first but sadly MMC nothing to do with the sperm go figure). We saw a urologist who specialises in MF infertility, had a bunch of tests, he had an operation and made a bunch of lifestyle changes. We also swapped from ICSI to IMSI and got 4x as many blastocysts from that cycle. We now still have two in the freezer. Good luck honey, it can happen xx

We did Imsi and Picsi however still no success

I will set an appoitment with a Urologist as i think that is the way forward. Thankyou so much for sharing xxxx

Yes we are only getting a very few (like, a handful, forget millions!!!) and we have never managed 2 blastos in any cycle. They aren't motile at all and one clinic described them as 'barely twitching'!!! however I still had my daughter despite this :-) tbh, if we had 2 blastos at any time I would have been well happy :-) Best of luck to you

You're welcome :-) His sperm was described like that in 2013 and we conceived our daughter in 2016 - who knows what state they were in by then!!! Just tried again for a sibling and on 2ww. If I worried about his sperm by this stage we would probably just procrastinate over whether to bother, and we've never had them tested since 2013 - it was best for us just to try and see what happens! I think you need luck more than perfect sperm / eggs in this IVF game, despite all the science xx

Hi Lorita. Just wondering whether you had ICSI and not IVF. If not, then that hopefully would be the way to go. Diane

Hi Diane. We used Picsi & Imsi. The doc said that even tough these methods were used there is no guarantee of a viable embryo. We transfered a pgs normal embryo that failed so im very disheartened about our situation 😔

Hi Lorita. Oh dear you've been through so much. Perhaps a talk with your embryologist may come up with some answers?? Thinking of you. Diane

Yes my partner had a 0 sperm count and is clinically diagnosed with total asuspermia. We had a surgical sperm retrieval and managed to get 50 ish live sperm and we had 1 embryo survive using it via ICSI . I am currently 35+6 with our little survivor :)

Wow thankyou so much for sharing and congrats for your pregnancy ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My partner has azoospermia, first round was terrible were lucky to find 10 sperm for my embryos - he had TESE and TESA operation to extract sperm, he was told not to bother taking supplements or stop drinking alcohol and caffeine. We had ICSI and failed miserably. Next time he stopped everything 6 months out from sperm retrival, ate well, took menevit and no caffeine we had 6 straws of sperm and 12 mature eggs conceiving with ICSI. Out of all that managed to get 3 five day embryos 😍 two of which are now my sons and one still in freezer. Also our 2nd round of IVF the clinic had room in the tiMi machine for our embryos to grow in which think it helped with less intervention
