After what feels like the longest journey, i’m a week and a half away from starting my IVF journey and I can’t quite believe i’m finally here! I will be on Short Protocol because of my PCO.
Any words of wisdom lovely ladies? Really hope its my turn to have a baby 😬 xx

Exciting times! I think I’d say the injections really aren’t as bad as you think! The other thing I’ve learnt is when I started I assumed it would work first go and was gutted when it didn’t so hopefully it will but if it doesn’t work first time try not to panic (don’t meant to stress you just looking back I feel I was a bit naive starting this journey) the other thing is this community is so amazing and so supportive it’s a great place to come for any questions or reassurance xx
Just try to stay a relaxed as you can about it all. It’s easier said than done I know. Also drink plenty water. But most importantly- don’t forget your trigger shot!!! Good luck to you xxx
Hi lovely, I'd echo what Core says. Be prepared that cycle 1 may not work. The doctors even say they treat it as a "test run" to see how the body responds etc. Try and be healthy, no smoking, little or no drinking, and take vitamins, exercise etc. Yoga and acupuncture are good too. I'd say dont get too fixated on being perfect, and a positive outlook and good mental health is the most important. Hot water bottle on bloated tummy (only before transfer!) And a supportive network is good to have too. I told very few about ivf and found it easier but each to their own! There's loads of acronyms (search on here) that you'll soon pick up. And loads of books (see an early post of mine!)
This forum is great for any queries!! When do you start? I'm starting my 4th cycle on 10 sept (short protocol, icsi). We are very lucky to have a daughter from cycle 2.
Exciting!! Someone else gave me the following advice: take these few weeks for yourself, cancel plans and don’t feel bad, relax, have a massage, enjoy the bonding with your OH (if they are injecting you) and take one day at a time... good luck! Keep up updated xx
Good luck to you 💗✨ I would say the same as above, be positive but also realistic.
My biggest piece of advice would be to go with what you think is best, don’t get wrapped up in reading what everyone else says you should be doing/eating because it can make you more anxious!
This forum really is fantastic, with many women all going through the same thing. I have kept a diary all the way through and its personally really helped me.
Ive just had my first IVF cycle and I took a week off work to focus on relaxing and giving my body the best possible chance.
