Can someone help explain the difference between short and long methods of ivf?

The main different is long protocol starts with you basically shutting down your reproductive system ‘down regulating’ and then kick starting it to encourage egg growth. Short protocol you start around day 3 of your cycle and you don’t shut it down you just stimulate. One is about 2-3 weeks longer than the other. It’s amazing how changing between the two can sometimes make a huge difference in results x
