High DNA fragmentation

Hi ttc tribe !

Over the last few months my Dh and I have been to see a private urologist. Who ordered a DNA test on my DH sperm. He’s now recommended Condensyl. Just wondered if anyone had tried this and did it help ?

Xx

My husband has 42% fragmentation, but I have been told MACS and PICSI ensure no (or reduced) fragmented sperm is used xx

Thank you ! Looking to start icsi in October. Trying to stay positive!

Make sure they do MACS or PICSI - it makes a big difference to the result. Good luck! Xx

Hi Annie, my OH had been on Fertilix for 9mths or so now (and cut down his alcohol consumption) as recommended by the urologist due to 0% morphology (normal forms). We have seen some improvement in results 3-4% morphology now which is almost at “normal” levels. So these supplements can maybe have some impact. But like most things in life it ain’t so simple - recent dna fragmentation test came back borderline normal, like right on the cusp of being not normal, and he has a worst grade varicocele. So whilst I think lifestyle factors and supplements can help a little they aren’t really solving the root cause. Did the urologist diagnose any specific issues?

Thank you for your reply. The urologist wants to take more bloods in the forms oestradiol and karyotyping.

Hope you get some positive news soon xx

Husband started it a few months ago, got 2nd frag next week. Will be hard to say if any improvement is the Condensyl as he is also taking proxeed, Ubiquinol, probiotics,& fish oils.

It’s weird how we’re all different things...I’ve been told to stay clear of PISCI, my clinic won’t even offer it. It’s still “red” on the hfea approved extras. But then so is IMSI which we’ve been told to use!! Who knows!

Good luck x

Thank you for your reply. I have seen proxeed advertised quite a bit.

Good luck to you too xx

Hi. We have this exact issue and my hubby has just been on condensyl for three month. We just got his repeat test results back and healthy sperm went from 3% to 6%. Our situation is due to an op he has when he was little though and I don’t think much can help his levels so he’s probably not a good example. But at least it went up I guess! Best of luck to you x

Thank you for your reply , my husband had undescended testicles as a little boy so I’m just wondering if that’s where all are problems lie.

Good luck to you too ! Xx

Yes that’s exactly what happened to my husband. Both undescended and they bought one down when he was about nine I think. It’s the main reason we’re having to undergo IVF. xx

Yep that’s what’s happened to him. I was diagnosed with pcos last year. Xx

My hubby has 39% DNA frag and has been taking Condensyl (now called Impryl) with proxeed, ubiqionol, omega 3 and eating an organic Mediterranean diet is key. Plastics out (no bpa), toothpaste body wash etc etc the whole change! We’re moving into IVF with ICSI - def get on the supps as it makes a huge difference xx
