Hello ! Am not sure if I should PGS test my one embryo thats left? We onlu had 2 fertilized embryos that both made it ti blatocyst and am having one transfer in two weeks, and it is not PGS tested, am not sure if I should PGS test the one embryo that I will have left. Any success stories with non Pgs tested embryos?

What’s made you think about having your embryos tested ?

One of my friends from work recommended me to do it . But honestly I dont feel the need , our issue was male factor and I have an 8yrs old son conceived naturally with same partner and no issues at all

I think PGS is usually around £3k and you pay for up to 8 embryos to be tested. At least that’s what it is where I am. I was told it’s not worth it unless you have high numbers to test. Also I’ve done a lot of reading into it and evidence is now showing that some abnormal embryos can still make normal babies. Plus there is a risk to the embryo by being tested. However it can really speed things up for you if you have lots of embryos. See if your clinic would do it for just one and what they would charge x

True,. Am in the US and am not sure how much it is here but am pretty sure is so expensive, But i already ask my doctor if he recommend doing it he said no, just wanted to make sure and have a second opinion this is my first time doing IVF and want to make things right since we only have to frozen embryos, but your right I dont want to risk any of my embryos for pgs testing them :)

If you don’t feel you need it then I wouldn’t do it . Even if the pgs test comes back with a problem it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have a healthy baby . I am a carrier of a chromosome disorder and I am perfectly healthy other than ivf . 1 in 500 people carry a genetic disorder and they know nothing about it .

Hi. Good question. I understand your worries. I had 3 PGS tested embryos. At first, I transferred 2 embryos and got bfn, and for the second time, I transferred only one that left and got bfp. on the 7th week, I miscarried, unfortunately. If I have only one embryo I wouldn't do any testing as it may make harm, I think. But it is only my point of view and it is up to you to decide.
