Pineapples? Do they really help with IVF?

Firefliesintuscany profile image

Hello all,

I’ve read a lot about the potential benefits of eating pineapples during IVF. Is this true??

I’ve also heard they can cause miscarriages?

I’m confused.

Does anyone know what the facts are, when to eat, which part, and at what stage of a IVF?

Thanks! X

No idea. Theres meant to be benefit of eating the core because of some enzyme that helps implantation.

In my nct class they reckoned an old wives tale was eating pineapple caused labour. That and raspberry leaf tea etc.

Might be nothing to it but i like pineapple so no hardship for me to eat it. Probably a load of rubbish but when you get to the end of treatment of someone told you stripping naked ands running down the road would give you a bfp i probably would x

You're supposed to eat the core of the pineapple to help with implantation. Not sure how much it helped, but I ate pineapple (core and flesh) after my FET and I got pregnant. My LO loves pineapple now too :)

I've personally never heard it linked to miscarriage.

Hi Firefliesintuscany. As far as I know, it works as an anticoagulant, and helps with an even blood flow to the womb lining, hopefully aiding implantation. I'm not aware of any actual studies on this, but lots of ladies eat the core when going through IVF. Good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane Xx
