BFP - think clinic have booked my scan too early 😩

Hi ladies

So on Sunday we got a BFP from our first round of IVF! We are so happy but extremely cautious as we have had three natural mc’s in the past.

I rang my clinic to tell them the news and they have booked me in for a scan on the 25th June, but by my working outs I would only be just over 4 weeks! I had my eggs collected on the 24th May and transfer on the 29th May. They said 25th June is fine but I’m just worried it will be too early.. any thoughts? X

Congratulations on your BFP! I think they consider the date of egg collection as being like the ovulation date in a ‘normal’ (non-IVF) cycle.

Because most women ovulate a couple of weeks into their cycle and pregnancy is dated from the last period, by the time you test positive you’re actually 4 weeks, because they add 2 weeks into the beginning of the cycle before EC. So by the date of your test you’ll actually be 6+4 I think. You should be able to see something on the scan by then. Hope that makes sense - not sure how well I explained it! x

Congratulations!! 🤗 You’ll be 6+4 by 29th (as you count the 2 weeks before ovulation / egg collection), so dates should be fine. I hope all goes just perfectly for you xx
