Hi ladies, starting stims today for my first round. Is egg collection exactly 2 weeks later? And when do you find out when it’ll be? Thanks x

Hi, it varies from person to person. At your first scan to check on your progress they will tell you. I responded well to the medication and follicles were ready a lot earlier than I thought and egg collection was 10 days after starting and I wasn’t scanned again. X

At the first internal scan to check your follicles, they will tell you if you need to continue the stimulation meds for a couple more days or not and then Re scan you. If you are good to go at either of the scans then they call you that day to let you know when your egg collection will be and when to take the trigger shot. My scan was on a Tuesday and the egg collection was then scheduled for the Friday at 4 pm. I had to take my trigger shot 4am on the Wednesday morning! That was fun! Best of luck!

Oh wow! Are you cycling at the moment?

My first scan is Friday which is day 5 so I’ll only have had 4 stims injections by then x

No I am waiting on a FET after the first transfer ended in chenimacl pregancy. We have two embryos on ice though

I expect your clinic will be scanning you more than mine! And you will most likely need to be on the stimms for a week at least. Perhaps by the second scan you can start to estimate 2 to 3 days after as potential egg collection? I marked a week after my first scan as potential egg collection days but as me and my husband are self employed it wa a whole lot easier to work around work! Hope your work can be flexible! So many unknowns here and you will defo need a couple of days chill time after egg collection. Keep that in mind too xx

My daughter had egg collection 12 days after starting stimming. It all depends how you respond to the drugs xx

I think it depends on protocol aswel as how u respond to the drugs ? I had mines 10 days after on the flare protocol and I only had 6 follicles and got 5 eggs . I had 4 scans between x

I've had 3 collections and each one was different. 1st one i stimmed for 9 days, 2nd one 11 days & 3rd one 13 days. Just depends on how you respond to the drugs.

Thanks Lorraine, at what point did they tell you when you’d be ready? (My work are starting to be awkward - they were supportive with the idea of it all, now it’s happening - not so much!)

They can only give you 48hrs notice I'm afraid. This is why you have continuous scans. I still haven't told work - I ended up phoning in sick for each of the collections!! Good luck x

Yes, I have started the 4th and final cycle now. Injections start next Wednesday! Not holding out much Hope for this, we've already been told it's unlikely to work but we need to go through it to get money back from Access Fertility. After that we're heading to Spain for Donor Egg treatment. Good luck for your cycle xx

Hi I went for my first scan this morning to check down regulation had worked which it has so I am due to start stims on Thursday 12th April and egg collection is scheduled for week commencing 23rd April. I have a scan on Monday 16th when the nurse has said they will know more then. I too am struggling for an excuse at work, they don't know about the ivf and I've not long been there. Unsure whether to try and book holiday last minute or throw a sickie!!!

Hi lovely, I’m on short protocol so didn’t have to down reg. I’ve got my first scan on Friday which will be day 5 of stims.

Work were really good on the lead up but now being slightly awkward! Frustrating!

I’m kinda hoping it’ll be next Friday so I’ve got the weekend to recover 🙊
