Taking paracetamol?

I seem to have had a nasal drip down the back of my throat and it’s soo sore! I’m now 7wks pregnant and scared to take a paracetamol but my head is also very sore. I’ve also been drinking lots of diluting juice in the hope of soothing it. Should I take one paracetamol to take the edge off? I feel like I’ve swallowed a hedgehog!! Tia! xx

Paracitamol does not harm, I'm almost 12 weeks and have been having headaches due to the progestrone and have been having 2 paracitamol daily for the last few days. Xx

Thankyou, I’m just so worried in case I cause any harm but I feel rather rubbish right now! xx

Hi Sqeak2. Paracetamol is fine. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Lots of hot lemon drinks to sip. Hope you soon feel better. Diane

Lovely thanks. Don’t be scared taking paracetamol. You can safely take 2 x 500mgs tablets every 4-6 hours. No more than 8 in 24 hours. No need to feel poorly and miserable. Baby will be quite safe. He/she might get upset by anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen, so do not take those. Get better soon. Diane

Paracetamol is perfectly safe, don't take aspirin though (or things like ibuprofen as others have said)

But I take one soluble aspirin daily since a week before the day of my transfer... I am almost 3 months now. 🤔

Sorry yes I should have explained more - low dose aspirin is fine. That dose is usually 75mg a day or thereabouts. But using as a regular painkiller you can usually take up to 4000mg a day - which you shouldn't do during pregnancy

Hi, please see link below from the NHS re the use of paracetamol while pregnant.

nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2397.aspx?...

It is always safer to ask your GP or midwife rather than anyone else online. Even though most of us know paracetamol is safe while pregnant, people might give you wrong advice in the future re medication. You've tried so hard to get there, you need the best advice from the best people. Get well soon Xxx :).

Hope you feel better soon and congratulations on your pregnancy for your headaches it could be the juice that is causing the problem I can not drink fresh orange juice from a bottle or container as just a sip will give me a serious migraine so I only drink water, diet drinks or tea or make a juice with fresh apple chopped apple and a banana or strawberries

When my headaches so bad My GP told me too take 2x500g paracetamol the first sign of a headache if I get a sudden build up of a migraine then take 3x500g then every 4hrs take 2x500g and it works but make sure you get your rest and drinkn plenty of water
