Hiya. Since my miscarriage. On the 10th September. Does anyone know what happens about periods. Do they or should they come back normal. X

Hi Bpmr. Hopefully your period should return to what is normal for you within 2 months from losing your little one. If not, then pop and see your GP. I do hope you're OK and have had lots of support over this time. Thinking of you. Diane

Hello Friend. I'm sorry for your loss.

Usually after an abortion the bleeding can last up to a week, if the bleeding lasts up to 20 days later it is advisable to go to the doctor to check that everything goes properly.

The arrival of the first menstruation after the abortion is a condition of each woman, some can take up to 6 weeks to return to have the menstruation and others instead can perceive it at 4 weeks.

After suffering a loss, the woman's body must be restored, in the case of the hormone chorionic gonadotropin, it should return to its initial value before pregnancy, so it must be hormonally ready to receive her first menstrual period after such an event.

The period after the miscarriage can appear between the 4th and 6th week after the loss, indicate that after 20 days of having suffered the loss if it begins to stain it would be considered a menstruation.

The first menstruation can be abundant, longer or not according to the cycles of each woman.

It is important that you remain calm as each body responds in a different way. I wish you the best and I hope you can recover soon.

Hi lovely, I'm so sorry for your loss. It looks like we both lost on the same day 😒 I haven't seen any signs of mine yet but I did have some discharge this week which I usually have around ovulation so hopefully that's a good sign. I had some reflexology yesterday as that usually gets it moving for me. Have you considered this (or acupuncture)? I want to get it back so we can try again. I hope you're OK, it's a tough time. Lots of hugs sending your way xxx

I've had 3 natural miscarriages, all three times I had a period about 2 weeks after I finished bleeding from the miscarriage then had a period about 10 weeks after that.. I'm just waiting for my period to come now, which again is nearly 10 weeks after I finished from my period 2 weeks after a miscarriage.

PS-sorry for your loss x
