5 month scan went well but Anterior placenta
I have a normally placed placenta or so they think & still haven't felt movement it had me worried other day but doctor did the heartbeat and all sounded fine, I have my next scan on Tuesday x
Hi Del92. An anterior placenta is a bit like having a cushion at the front, so most probably will delay feeling movements. As long as scan and checks on baby are fine, all will be OK. Diane
hi i had an anterior placenta. Which was low lying. Didn't feel movement until 20-21 weeks. Didn't cause too much trouble but ended up with c section as he was persistent footling breech. It's nothing to worry about hun ❤❤
I had an anterior placenta I didn't feel real movement till about wk 23/24 and then he didn't stop! X
I had one too. I think it's fairly common. Once you start to feel baby you won't stop! And it's possible you have felt it but just not realised - the early movements aren't obviously movements, just wierd feelings that are difficult to describe.
Yes I have an anterior placenta too - now 24 weeks and feeling him lots more - I've spent the last few weeks seriously worrying about this but the movements will come in time and you need to tune yourself into feeling them as there are loads happening which you miss until you get a feel for what's going on! Wishing you all the best x
Yep that's pretty much what I get - sometimes if I've had ice cream or something sweet I can feel him twitching or fluttering about a lot more than usual and then there are periods when I don't feel anything and think that's just when he's sleeping which I'm trying to learn to stop worrying about! It has been getting increasingly easier to feel over the last 3 weeks and particularly in the last week! I think the anterior placenta cushions a lot of the movement so that's when you need to tune into it a bit more! I panicked a couple of weeks ago and went to hospital and they let me just listen to his heartbeat for a few minutes to reassure me he was ok and even though I couldn't feel anything the midwife could clearly hear him wriggling about! Try not to worry and try to enjoy (that's what I'm trying very hard to do!) x
Twitches is how it starts. Some people describe it as butterflies, although I never really got them in the traditional sense of butterflies. I did wake up one morning to the strangest sensation and it felt like wings beating against the inside of my stomach so maybe that's what people mean. It does eventually turn into proper kicks though, even with an anterior placenta.
Hi Del92, I've also just been told that I have an anterior placenta as well. I've only just started to feel movement (at 21 weeks) but really sporadically. I was just wondering how you're getting on?
What's the movements like? Ive been feeling some stuff x
At first a kind of fluttering but yesterday like being pushed from the inside,I guess.it's kind of hard to describe! What have you felt and how often. I worry that I feel something like once a day and the rest of the time nothing!
I haven't felt fluttering which is worrying but felt like spasm in my belly, and tapping and popping, and my belly going up and down so assuming it's baby hope it's not gas lol x
I get the impression that experiences can vary a lot so I wouldn't be worried about not feeling fluttering! That certainly sounds like movement. I can't wait to get to a point where is clear and frequent so I can stop stressing! Until the next thing, of course!
