We've been referred for IVF, I'm told the wait list is currently 4 months!!! Can anyone share their experience of time from referral to actual first appointment?

Well, that's actually one of the reasons why I've made my mind on the clinic abroad. No any waiting lists and wasted time. I had 3 ivfs that failed and 2 iuis before that.. and spent much time for that and recovering after each. I decided that I don't want that again.. Wish you luck though. Hope your attempt would be successful. x

We're in Wales so it differs greatly from other places but we've been waiting 16 months since our referral. We've been told we should be starting treatment late summer. After referral we were seen fairly quickly but have now not had any appointments since last July. Unfortunately this is completely normal for Welsh patients. I have a few friends in England who've gone through the process, one waited approximately 2 months and the other 8 x

Thank you 😀 It's been a loooong 16 months but we're finally almost there. I think I saw the other day that you'd had your transfer? Hope you're doing ok, good luck xx

Thanks for posting this, I was wondering how long the waits are for Welsh patients. We are in Wales but being seen in Shrewsbury. Referred in November 2016 and seen for tests, next appointment is November this year where they will tell us how long the wait for IVF is. We have the one year enforced wait as our fertility is unexplained. Hoping the ivf will be early-mid 2018 and not 16-20 month wait from November, fingers crossed. Good luck for the Summer :)

We're in Shrewsbury from North Wales too and also had the one year wait due to unexplained infertility. It sucks doesn't it? We were referred Jan 2016 and told on top of the 12 months, the clinic itself also had a 6 month wait so we'll be slightly over that when we start but during the course of our appointments last year we were given a lot of mixed messages regarding how long we had left to wait. I phoned them about 6 weeks ago for an update and was told it was unlikely we would start this year, then 3 weeks ago they called me to arrange appointments for June and July and said treatment would start around a month after. They're really lovely there but so unorganised! Fingers crossed and good luck to you too 😀 if you want any info etc don't hesitate to ask xx
