Hi again everyone.... I've been having a nose on here and came across talk of embroglue- please could anyone give me some more information on this as I've not heard of this before. Would people recommend paying extra for this?

Thanks in advance ☺️

I've seen lots of people on here recommended it and have chosen it, but I've yet to find much info on it, I gather it gives the embryo and helping hand to stick so gives you a better chance maybe, but I could be totally wrong xx

Check with your clinic as some use it as standard (no extra cost) xx

Hi, I have decided to go for this add on treatment. This is what it says on google "Hyaluronan occurs naturally in your womb, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Studies have shown that it makes secretions from these organs stickier, aiding fertilisation and implantation. Embryo glue mimics those uterine secretions. On your embryo transfer day, your embryos are dipped into the 'glue'."

Apparently some clinics do this anyway free of charge but unfortunately mine don't!

When do you start your cycle?

Xxx

It costs £165 in our clinic. I have been taking my nasal spray since 27th April and have my down reg appointment on Tuesday so start injections on Wednesday 😬 Exciting times! I'm constantly counting down to the next app, next scan! Hate waiting lol xx

Hi. I have discussed it with consultants and embryologists at my last clinic and my current one, and all thought it was not worth doing, no evidence it worked. They said they would definitely recommend it if they thought it worked! I also went to the Fertility Show, where there was a panel discussion with three consultants there, all said they did not think it worth adding on. I did try it on my first cycle however. The embryologists from my first clinic, said they kept record of patients who tried it, and those who didn't, and from their own audit they saw no difference in success rates either. I've decided not to add it on since.

Hi!

Oh ok, that's interesting... I suppose in every business there's things that are just a money maker(as awful as that sounds)

Thankyou for you information... x

The NHS consultant embryologist at our hospital told us that they only do things which there is evidence that they will work and they provide embryo glue for every NHS patient so it must have some proof of working or they wouldn't find it xx

Robert winston thinks it's a waste of money, he says there isn't research it works and anyway most embryos will head back up into the Fallopian tubes before they implant anyway so the glue is no use. His genesis research website has a better explanation xx
