Slightly concerned.

Hi all.

So I had EC on Monday with 14 eggs collected. 10 fertilised - 6ivf and 4 ICSIπŸ˜€πŸ˜€ Over the moon with this and it's one more than last year which is great.

The symtoms though seem much worse this time (or I put them to the back of my mind after last year!) I seem to be suffering more with bloatedness and almost like a bruised feeling to my abdomen. Is this normal??

I'm on a lot of medication to prepare my body this time including 2 injections a day which probably isn't helping but I'm getting concerned about OHSS. Nothing's been mentioned at any scans and other than bloatedness and soreness I've no other symptoms- am I just worrying over nothing???

Good luck to you all πŸ‘ΆπŸ€πŸ€

Hi Hun, I had my second lot of treatment last month & I was the same, the first time wasn't have as bad. They managed to get less eggs this time but more fertilised 😊. I'm currently 5+2 BFP so good luck, try not to worry too much xx

I've only had one round so nothing to compare it to but I had lots of bloating and soreness so I think it's quite common. Drink lots and lots of water and try peppermint tea as those helped me through it, the only thing that made it better though was time! It's taken a good few weeks to get back to 'normal' xxx

I had mine done yesterday, it was my first time but I'm in soooo much pain it's unreal. I was in pain before the procedure but now even worse. I was told that there was lots of follicles and that my overies were very swollen but tbh I'm struggling to move. I hope you feel better soon xxx

Hi boothy1883. Sounds like you may have a bit of OHSS. Make sure you drink plenty of water and rest when you can. If you get pain, it is safe to take some paracetamol. Keep an eye on your urine output, and if it decreases then you need to see a doctor. Also breathlessness can sometimes be a worry. Hopefully just by drinking extra water all will settle down. Probably just because you had a good result and your ovaries are still working a bit. Hope all is soon well again. Diane
