I am so glad to get a site like this where we can express ourselves.
Me (35) and my husband (40) have been married for 7 years and we never used protection but nothing happened ever since. We are healthy adults with BMI under 25 and my period is super normal. I have never missed my period since my childhood. Please can anyone suggest from where we should start?

hi I hope you’re well. I’d suggest to speak to your GP (both you and husband ) and ask to be referred to a fertility clinic, explain you’ve been ttc for a while (you don’t need to give much details tbh) and they’ll ask you to get the relevant blood test, scans, etc. and refer you to the fertility clinic after this. My husband used the LiVi app instead of our GP and he got referred to the fertility consultant way quicker than I did, I think even his tests were done by the fertility clinic (he got seen in Oct 22 whilst my first appointment was Feb 23).
I know it varies depending where you are based but in our case the waiting time was sadly too long, it took 1 year from when we started with GP (Apr 22) until start of fertility treatment (May 23). Once we reached the fertility clinic (Feb 23) things moved much faster, incl. application for IVF funding by NHS. My advice is to start this as soon as possible, some people are lucky and things may work on the first try but sometimes it requires a bit longer. The quicker alternative of course is to go private if you’re financially prepared for this. On hindsight, If I had known how long it would take, I think private would probably had been the better option.
I know I am a bit late replying to this but I was in a similar boat, normal periods, healthy weight but I had tests done and all come back normal!
I was referred for a laproscopy after the gynae found a polyp in my uterus. During the lap he also found I had stage 3 endo which was on my ovaries and bladder. I really had no symptoms. So silent endo which was probably impacting my chances at conceiving.
I did a few rounds of iui and then straight to IVF where we conceived in our first try. Currently 20 weeks pregnant. I hope this helps- good luck!
