I’m on my 3rd ivf pregnancy (the other two were sadly miscarriages). Tonight I’ve had some rather painful pains down my left hip/left lower back and radiating down my thigh and knee. It almost feels like it’s coming from within my vagina which I know sounds weird. I had a bit of brown spotting for the last two days too - only light.
has anyone had anything similar that was ok? Or should I prepare myself for the worst again? Xx

My completely unmedical opinion - sounds like a nerve thing rather than a miscarriage thing. Hope everything's alright and you're feeling better soon and it's nothing sinister xxx
Hi Catlady. Ouch! It sounds like it could be a bit of sciatica. It doesn't always radiate from back to buttock and down back of leg, it can go through the femoral epiphisis - the front of the leg. Speak to your GP but perhaps paracetamol might help. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen as it can be bad for baby. Drink plenty of water in case you have a bit of infection causing the brown spotting. If still using pessaries vaginally, then it could be irritation from those. Hope all son settles down. Diane
I’m experiencing this too at the minute but mine is felt more through my bum cheeks, hips and up to halfway down the sides of my thighs. It’s especially bad at night, keep waking up every 2 hours to swap from left to right and vice versa. My midwife thinks it’s pelvic girdle pain so has referred me for physio. Try speak to your GP or midwife for some advice.
hey, I have my scan on Tuesday but not feeling hopeful sadly. I’ve had a lot of brown spotting and on and off cramps since. I’ve had two miscarriages before and my guess is that this will be another non viable pregnancy. Hope you’re ok xx
