I'm starting my first round of IVF, and was told that I need to start my injections on day 2 or 3 of my cycle. The clinic initially told me that if I started my period on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning that I'd start my injections on Monday. However, I started my period late on the Sunday afternoon, and they're now telling me to start injections on Wednesday evening (which I calculate as being day 4 of my cycle).
When I questioned this, the nurse said: "Stimulation medications can be started Wednesday, Friday or Sundays and need to be started on days 2 to 3 of your cycle. As you period started yesterday afternoon this makes today day 1 of your cycle. This makes Wednesday your day 3."
However, that makes no sense to me and seems really contradictory. Also surely the day you start your period is day 1 of your cycle? I was initially told if I started my period Friday afternoon (day 1) or Saturday morning (day 2) I would still start Sunday evening (day 2 or 3). Therefore if I've started Sunday afternoon (day 1) surely I start on Tuesday evening (day 3)?
Has anyone else had this? As seems like they're pushing it back a day to fit their clinic's preference on start days. Will it make any difference to my treatment or should I not worry about it? The nurse is currently ignoring me...
