My doctor has recommended 3 cycles of egg collections due to my low AMH 4.2 inorder to maximise the number of eggs I can freeze before the numbers go down further. I am new to IVF and it seems very daunting to go through 3 lots of stimulation fairly quickly before any transfers. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks so much

I can’t speak with any expertise here, but I’m in a similar situation (low AMH, AFC of 8) and was given the same advice by a consultant at Create fertility. I then had a consultation at another clinic to get a second opinion, where I was advised they would try to stimulate as many eggs as possible in the first cycle (whereas Create would only provide low dose stims) and transfer blastocysts produced in that cycle before going for another cycle. They didn’t advocate embryo banking as it’s possible there’ll be a viable embryo in the first cycle and it would be unnecessary. I am going ahead with the second clinic but have yet to start, so I’m not saying the latter is necessarily the right approach, but I’d recommend getting a second opinion as it surprised me how different the two consultants were in their advice. The second approach makes more sense to me than multiple egg collections before even starting the fertilisation process.
