Egg collection

I had egg collection yesterday. They got 14 eggs and got the call today to say 8 fertilised. Everything is looking good at moment. Hopefully et Monday. I was just wondering what the average egg collection and one that fertilised was. Hope all you lovely ladies are doing ok

Hey Sam, I've had 2 the first got 16 , 15 fertilised but only 2 valid to implant, the second 8 , 8 fertilised, 6 frozen in day 2 for transfer in January due to ohss.

From reading here there are massive variations, the common factor everyone agrees on is..... We only need one that is healthy and makes it.

Clearly to be able to have done frozen too is a great bonus.

Thank you for the reply. My belly is still hurting after and I'm just hoping I don't get ohss as they think I'm at risk of it. How soon after ec did you know you had ohss or did the clinic tell you that

Hey I have done the injections 3 times now.

First time my cycle got cancelled due to ohss and estridiol level rocketing to 7000, Max allowed 3000.

Second time on the limit, horrid diet after with 6 egg whites daily.

Third time 2 weeks ago they decided to give me a new injection meaning I can't get ohss but can't implant till Jan either.

The second time I was in agony for 2 weeks so quite relieved to freeze all and heal this time.

My clinic told me before the egg collection. Time 2 was a risk. Had I have known how bad if feel I wouldn't have implanted.

This last time I felt like wonder woman and was out walking my dogs one day after.

Emotionally a mess

Didn't get all my eggs as I had a full blown panic attack and was sick at the ec.

Lessons learned

Hi thats brilliant news! It's all about the quality not quantity!

I had 5 eggs collected and I was upset but 4 have made it and all top quality!

Had one blastocyst transferred last wed! Rest to be freezed!

I've had one round of ivf. They collected 14 eggs. The next day we were told 11 had fertilised. By day 5 we had just 1 good quality 5 day blastocyst to transfer (they froze 4 more on the 6th day). I did however develop mild/moderate OHSS and was admitted to hospital for 3 days one week after transfer but was told 2 days early that I was pregnant! ! Am now 13 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Have had 2 scans and so far have a happy healthy baby on the way , so it only takes 1 😀 Xxx

Hi, I'm on my first round of IVF, got a bro and just waiting on my first scan. I only had 4 eggs collected, all on my left side, and of these, 3 were mature and fertilised. By day 3 all 3 looked similar so they took them to blastocyst and I ended up with 2 that were developing normally. I remember feeling disappointed at one of my scans that I had only one ovary that responded but I did manage to get 2 transferred, so I'm hopeful that all will be well this week on the scan. I don't have any that were frozen. So, it does vary a lot and your numbers sound good - best of luck with et and 2ww!

Had a phone call today and we will be waiting until day 5 which is Wednesday and we have 3 that all look good. He did say the other 5 did strange things. I hope they last until then x

That's great that they have 3 to take forward to blastocyst! They will be able to tell much better at that stage which ones are best quality. When I got the call on day 3, my feeling was that I just wanted them back into me quickly in case they didn't make it to day 5 but I was glad afterwards because one of them didn't develop as well as the other 2. On day 3 they wouldn't have been able to pick this one out as a under achiever. So hopefully you will get some nice embryos tomorrow!

Hey I started with 12 lost 6, 6 fertilised day 3, 4 were looking good so said to hang in there got to day 5 2 were fantastic and a slow runner so they choose the best 2 tbh wish I just had all 3 put in as the slow runt sometimes becomes the winner.

however had 2 put back but the runt did finally make it to blast but they said probably wouldn't have frozen as wouldnt last the thawing....

On the countdown to see if my babies implanted.
