I gave birth to my baby at just 22 weeks and 1 day and he was sadly born sleeping. This was 7 weeks ago now and I still don't have my period. Is this normal? When can I expect my period to return? I am scared incase there is some damage that has happened to make it never return.
Thank you

I’m so sorry for your loss. It must be so hard. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks and it took 5-6 weeks for my period to return. I think because your beta hcg will have been higher it will have taken longer for it to reduce in your system which may cause a delay to your period. If you’re concerned you could always ask for a GP call xxx
Thank you for your response. I spoke with my GP this morning and she advised that it is normal for it to take a little while longer and referred me for a scan anyway incase there was any tissues left over that are causing the delay.
30 minutes after I got off the phone to the GP, my period came...typical.
Ah well at least it came so you now you know you’re ok. It’s very hard having a miscarriage and especially at 22 weeks. Be kind and gentle to yourself. Take care xx
