First failed IVF

Hey, just had a BFN in my first round of IVF. Had 5 day blastocyst 2 weeks ago, top grade Embryo transferred, so feeling rather deflated today. Our issues TTC were unexplained. Doctors could not find anything wrong with both me or my partner. Just wondering what could have caused things to fail & really where we go from here with regards to starting another cycle? Do the clinics run any kind of tests etc to see why things could have failed?

Hi there, sorry to hear about your failed attempt on IVF. I know it's hard to cope when you've had bestowed so much hopes to it but then moving on is the only way you'll get to the success. Was this a fresh transfer one or FET? Do you have more embryo for transfer? Usually the unexplained inferttility if ongoing have an underlying cause that's identified later. Though the identification happens when you get on IVF only, sometimes it may take a couple of attempts till they can pin-point it. Did you had a PGS or like plan to have one? I think you should consider this sometimes the underlying cause is not visible because it's in the genes. I attended a Biotexcom free consultation session when they were in London last year and it sort of a seminar where they explain various issues concerning infertility in general. There I got to know that there's a trisomy that causes multiple MCs... these types of anomalies can be responsible for a lot of other things and unnatural symtoms including being the "unexplained" reason for infertility. Also, I have read in several sites that first attemp is most prone to fail but then it prepares your body to have a successful one on the following FET. Hi there, thanks for your reply. it was a FET. I had 6 embryos in total, all AA grade, lining was as it should be, which makes it quite frustrating. We have 1 child already (conceived naturally) but then when we came to try for the second one nothing was happening so who knows what's going on. Crossing everything for the 2nd try x
