Early scans

Hi all, I had a mc in August and just found out I’m pregnant again 🎉🎉

I’m really worried as it’s my second pregnancy ever and really don’t want it to happen again. I’m thinking of going for an early scan but seeing as I’m only 5weeks gone from my last period so probably only 3 weeks not sure of how dating is worked out??

Do you think I should pay for a private scan as it is really early but I’m so worried I just need reassurance I don’t know if a scan would show anything??

Congratulations on your lovely news, I understand how worrying this time is for you but please try not to do so.

Dating is from the first day of your last period so you are 5 weeks not 3. If you have a private scan done now it’s likely they won’t be able to see anything much yet and ask you to go back in two weeks, which will just cause you added stress, that is if you can get anyone to do it at all!

Trust that your body is doing what it does best and try and relax if you can, you’re not more likely to have a mc because of the previous one and I’m certain this baby will be fine. Enjoy the relative symptom free time you’re in now. Before long you’ll probably be feeling nauseas, tired and bloated so make the most of it while you can 😘
