I had my hysteroslpingogram today and everything went well, on Monday I have my pelvis abdominal & transvaginal is that the baseline test that some of you have talked about or is that something different?? Thanks x

Glad to hear your HSG went well. I was really nervous before mine!
A transvaginal scan is basically like an internal ultrasound where they can look at your ovaries, uterus etc. If it's the first time you have had one I think they will just be looking to check everything looks ok and they will probably take some measurements.
The baseline scan is also a a transvaginal but you have this during IVF. You are initially given drugs to shut down your system so you stop ovulating naturally. You then have a baseline scan to check that the meds have done their job and the lining of the uterus is thin before you are ready to be given the follicle stimulating hormones to produce eggs.

Thank-you so much for your reply. There's so many tests and stages etc it's frustrating but suppose each one is a step closer.I am hoping after the test on Mon we go back to the consultant and he will decide what route we are going to use. So excited and feeling positive at the moment.
It is frustrating as you suddenly find yourself trying to navigate a process you know nothing about and which you never thought you would need to know about! Sites like this are great but it can feel like you're reading a whole new language with all the terms and abbreviations!
You're definitely moving in the right direction by having these tests done. I felt like everything took an eternity but now we're on the 2 week wait after our first round of IVF it feels like it's all happened really fast!!!
