Has anyone tried acupuncture?

I have been reading alot lately on the Internet about how acupuncture can help with fertility/Ivf etc.

Has anyone tried this? What are your thoughts?

Hello Butyon-123,

We have unexplained infertility and I saw an acupuncturist when we were ttc naturally (without success). I am now doing my first cycle of IVF and have had a few acupuncture sessions to support our treatment. Sofar everything is going well with the IVF cycle but there is obviously no way of telling whether the acupuncture is helping or if it's just the drugs! What I would say though is that I do enjoy it. It's unexpectedly relaxing and I often doze off in the sessions!

My hubby had acupuncture for a back problem and it really helped him so we do believe there's something in it. Whether it will help us conceive I have no idea but it makes me feel better to be doing something!

That's what I think! I googled acupuncture for fertility and my city and found this lady easily. She seems well respected and is very knowledgable about the process so I do trust her. She also does evening appointments so I can fit it around work x

Booked a consultation to start Acupunture, the woman sounds lovely and it sounds really interesting so going to give it a try.

I was just googling acupuncture tonight as my friend who had a successful ivf second cycle highly recommended it. We've been ttc for 3 &1/2 years now and are finally on the first ivf cycle and I'm currently doing my down regulation injections. I found a lady in my area who does acupuncture and has specialised in fertility so I'm hoping to get an appointment or 2 before my egg collection in a few weeks. I also have chronic back pain and even with regular massages I haven't managed to ease it so hoping to help with that too xx

Hi Mrs Vintage how exciting your finally on the journey. We have an appointment to go back to the consultant on the 21st Sept and hoping then we can get the ball rolling.

I have started acupuncture and have to say its amazing, So relaxing and the lady is also a specialist in IVF/Pregnancy acupunture etc so gives lots of advice in terms of diet, what to expect at certain appointments.

I am abit of a worrier about everything and like to be in control , so find it hard to relax and wait for appointments etc. So i was amazed after my first session how calm and relaxed I felt and it has continued I have downloaded some of the relaxation/mindfulness music and try for 15 mins a day to relax and switch off and so far its working and I feel very positive and ready to start this journey x
